      Oh, in the past, we had artists that were similar. Some of the best songs that spoke about this are "Another Brick in the Wall" by Pink Floyd and "We Didn't Start the Fire" by Billy Joel. Offspring's "The Kids Aren't Alright", POD's "Youth of a Nation", Martina McBride's "Independence Day" and "Broken Wings", and if you really want to cry, Soul Asylum's "Runaway Train" are excellent songs that talk about issues that the government seems to want to sweep under the rug and only talk about it when it comes to election time.

    Hearing you talk about your daughter brings back a very emotional and sad time for me. My daughter (now 20) came home from school one day in middle-school and I could tell she was upset, and she yelled at me and my wife for making her white. The school system (critical race theory), and the other kids convinced her that she was evil for being white, she didn't want to be white, she cried about how guilty she felt etc. She was 12! How the fk she ever have any reason at that time to feel guilty for. That was the start of depression for her. She battled a lot, tried suicide at 14, was in a lot of programs for her and family and was locked up at 14 for psyche rehab. It was horrible for our family. She's recovered though out of her own hard-headed stubborness (a trait she got from me). She's still not successful in life as all this threw her behind the curve and all she wants to do is weed to dull her senses. But her depression is controlled and she mentally well for the most part. But I will never forget how we felt that day she came home from school and how horrified we were at the sentiments she felt. I pray for your little angel then RDis.

      I grew up as the only white kid in a poverty stricken neighborhood, I came home in kindergarten and did the same thing to my mom it killed her... I knew I was different and begged for acceptance through childhood but instead of feeling sorry for myself I had mentors around me who picked me up and told me to be proud of who I was. Having to overcome that makes me completely understand what minorities go through in certain circumstances. But I had every excuse in the book I could have used but instead with just a dream and a single mom who had me at 18 I learned I control my destiny and my own happiness and no one else can control that. Took me years to understand that wish more people had avenues to learn what I did without learning it the hard way

    • @PatrickHenry911
      @PatrickHenry911 3 роки тому +21

      So sorry she went through that.
      Your story is why I'm going to homeschool or send my kids to conservative Christian schools. Your skin color doesn't make you bad. The public schools are teaching kids to be racist socialists and communists. It's sick. My black friends and I growing up thought racism would die out with our grandparents...then they went to college and were indoctrinated in critical race theory and next thing I know they hated me because I'm white and have "white privilege," even though they got scholarships & other breaks that I was ineligible for because I'm white. Maybe one day they will wake up and realize they became racists.

The fact that he decided to use his craft to deliver positive messages is just the icing on top. It does happen. My little girl is 8 years old and this past year she has come home making comments about skin color. She's at that age where kids notice things like skin colors. She's made comments about how she wished her skin was a different color. There was an instance she asked a little girl to be her best friend (the little girl is black like the majority of the kids in her school) and another girl told her she couldn't be best friends with them cuz she didn't have the same color skin. It broke my heart. That's one thing we have always said to her is that skin doesn't matter, we're all the same on the inside and we are all beautiful but it broke my heart that day because she didn't want to look like herself. She couldn't understand why the girl said that and I had to explain how some kids think that way because their parents teach them to be that way but in our household we don't believe in being better than others. What else can you do, ya know, just keep teaching love not hate.

    RDiss is on point here. Articulate people do seem to make good rap artists regardless of race. People should remember that Tupac was a poet who attended a school for the arts when he was young, before his family moved to California and got into the street life and rap game. There is a reason (in my opinion) that his tracks were almost all great - he knew the English language and how to manipulate it. I don't care what anyone says - "How do you want it?" will be top 5 in my all time track list until I die.
