Thanks for the tour, I hope to camp there one day but they always seem to be full. I found some free camping outside the park but it would be worth the cost to stay there.
I know the area well. The BLM spot everyone boondocks at to me is ‘meh’. It is exposed and a big open field of nothing. Trust me on this one. Pay the extra cost and try for Arch Rock campground first, and Atlatl Campground second. It is so unique and unlike anywhere else I ever camped and is still my favorite of all time. But yes, it is hard to get a spot depending on the time of the year, but if you keep checking the Nevada state park site, someone is bound to cancel. If you do, let know what you thought.

Nice video. I did a similar run through both of the caping areas prior to COVID. All of the hookup sites were taken when I went there. So I assume that the vacant sites in your video were occupied and the campers were out exploring the park. I checked with the ranger and the hookup sites are reserved for those with the proper attachments. Since i was in a Jeep Wrangler, but had the 30 amp converter, the ranger stated that qualified to stay in that section. Of course, now with the reservation system, should not be a problem.
Thanks. The campgrounds were both full, but I tend to make the videos in the mid day, after folks have left but before the new check in. Best chance of catching sites empty. So that probably accounts for why you see so many vacant.

I should add… if you need electric hookups or are in a big rig, then Atlatl is your better option, although Arch Rock is waaaaay neater imo.
