  • I have been living in Singapore from a couple of years now and one of the first things you may hear about Singapore is that it’s an expensive city to live in but well, if you know where to spend, its pretty manageable.
This video will give you a detailed information of cost of living in Singapore. This video will be divided in PART 1 and PART 2 and will cover House rent for different residential options, Food, Groceries, Markets, Utilities, Communication, Transport, Education, Entertainment, Personal Development in Singapore and much more. This data is as per my experience living in Singapore. This video will help you understand the expectations and decide what to choose and how to spend on, while you are in this country either for travel or to live in.
If you are an Expat or a student, you can calculate your monthly expenses and cost of living in Singapore with the help of this video.
The expenses will depend on your lifestyle so its totally upto you and see whats in your budget.Singapore offers a wide range of available choices and prices. Choices are abound in Singapore. By and large, the cost of living in Singapore is kinder to those who know how to manage their financial resources, and keep a regular paying job.
Talking about the House Rent, the cost of housing in Singapore depends on factors such as the property’s proximity to the city, relative age of the property, availability of recreational facilities (such as pool, gym, etc.) and the quality of furnishings that come with the accommodation. You should take your time to decide where you want to live in Singapore and make a decision only after careful consideration of the average rental cost as well as your personal preferences.
Food is relatively cheap in Singapore. However, as elsewhere, food expenses depend on how extravagant you are. Food expenses can either be a marginal factor or a significant factor when calculating your average living costs depending on the lifestyle you choose to adopt in Singapore.
This video also includes Utilities , Groceries and Communication are also in detail.
PART 2 will cover Transportation, Education and much more.

      Very well researched report .
For a first world country it’s still the cheapest place to live in . I lived and worked here for 60 years . After retiring I became a real estate agent serving primarily Condos and HDB residents but not room rentals . Big changes because of Covid 19 and Ukrainian wars impacts on cost of living . Contact me for any information. K S Rajan ( Mark )

The reason why many people don't end up with decent paying jobs in Singapore is because Indians come here and take those jobs instead. Yes INDIANS. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. oh I'm an Indian myself. But not from India. I feel for our locals. I feel bad when they get displaced because our government supports bringing in all these Indians for their own benefits.
And when these Indians come here and take those jobs, they don't behave well. They like to break official rules made by the government which every Singaporean follow with utmost discipline, and they behave like they are still in India. They are spoiling the country with both their physical and mental presence. They look down on Singaporeans and think they are superior to us because they get the good jobs and high end lifestyle. Lol. Though I love India and Singapore both, this is a bitter truth I cannot tolerate and sad to say, it is our country that has allowed it and allowed Indians to exploit. That's why it is time for Singaporeans to move on to better places.
