- Nelson Ledges Road Course, Ohio, July 29, 2018. This is the full 2nd afternoon session of the Advance Group. I'm riding my 2009 Ducati 848. I end up following a fast Suzuki SV650 rider (#62) for the first several laps. It made me miss my SV650S that's back home in the garage--these bikes are fun, and I might set mine back up for the track.
A few more laps in, and I was able to set another personal best lap at this track. As soon as I set that record, I was passed by a much faster rider and was instantly reminded that I can and will go even faster... it's never ending!

Can't wait to see that Duc back out at MidOh!
Great video 👍🏻 those were some fast riders. Congratulations on a new personal best
Looking good. I see they added some curbing to go with the new surface.
Nice riding!
Great laps ! Smooth and fast ! I started there with Fasttrax 19 years ago on a 98 1200 Bandit. Then after Bob Stanley past, with Tod Karam and Moto Series. Was a control rider for a couple years on a 03 SV 1000. Sold the SV but still have the old reliable Bandit. After busting my femur at PIR about 4 years ago, I got back out at NL with Sam Wang and LEAN. The track seemed so much wider without all the pot holes. I didnt make it out last year, I restored a Bultaco and been trying to get more dirt time in ( and its cheaper) But would like to get back to NL this year as long as its in my budget. Who do you go through now for track days there ? I just start in the back of the intermediate these days, wait till the tires warm up and see how far I can move up. Not worried about lap X anymore, just like to get in some smooth laps. At 63 I dont crash too well anymore.
This was the 2nd afternoon Advance session, and it was a fun one! There is quite a bit of passing (mostly me being passed), and I set another personal best lap at this track. As soon as I set my personal best--literally 2 seconds afterwards--I was passed by a much faster rider; it was a good reminder that 'there's always going to be a faster rider out there.' It's never-ending!
