    This judge needs to go. He multiple times admonished victims' family for their "ill will". Serious, judge? And he gave this man opportunity be free with 8 deaths under his belt. It's not the social media that gives Pike County a bad name. It's you judge.

      @@kywymy I thought the judge in the Melody Farris case was pretty biased in her favor, but this fella takes the trophy for misplaced empathy. Has more feeling for the murderers than the victim. Ten minutes for victim impact statements for eight victims? That is what he thinks is appropriate and important. Stick to the time limit. I have better things to do than listen to your feelings about your child being murdered.

      What are you talking about? Those were the terms for him pleading guilty and avoiding going to trial and wasting taxpayers money. If he gone to trial then it would have been life without parole.

      ​@@fumblingdetectivea Judge doesn't have to accept the terms of any plea agreement. Judges are allowed to reject a plea deal and give an appropriate sentence. It's done all the time.

      @@esdee878 Judge has the right to reject plea agreement entirely or reject plea agreement and give their appropriate sentence, which may be higher or lower than what was proposed in the plea. US justice system works through plea bargains not trials. 98 % of cases on Federal level are through plea bargains. On the State level percentage is 95 %. Judges rejecting plea agreements are really rare. I had seen only one case in ten years. Hussain Braveheart case. Judge rejected the plea agreement for the defendant in that case. It was passed on for a review on a different Judge who accepted the plea agreement.

      @@fumblingdetective part of a plea deal is agreeing that the Judge doesn't have to follow the recommended sentence. Judges Boyd, Middleton, Simpson, etc do that all of the time. Some Judges accept the plea sentence, while others won't. Judge Boyd does that all of the time if she feels like the sentence should be harsher.

    That judge should be fired for giving the guy who pulled the trigger in 5 or 6 of the 8 victims murders a chance at parole in 30 years! He already agreed to serve 8 life sentences and that should have been the minimum he got. Someone who's responsible for doing what they did should've gone straight to death row! Sickening!!

    So George Wagner who didn’t pull the trigger gets 8 life sentences with no possibility of parole plus and additional 120 years….. But Jake who did pull the trigger gets 5 life sentences with possibility of parole after 32 years ?!?! 🙄🧐🥴 that makes no sense whatsoever

    Judge Jonathan Hein needs to step down. The sentence should have been consecutive and not concurrent. To get a parole hearing in 30 years for the shooting death's of what 3 people? Or was it 4? shame on you Judge. You liked to hear yourself talk about how hard the Court employee's work, and everything else instead of mentioning 8 lives deceased. I disliked the look of surprise and joy on Jake Wagner's face when he realized he would go for parole. May Prison Justice prevail, since the Prosecutor's and Judge did not do their job's correctly. Was it so hard to go after the DP Prosecutor? The Judge and Prosecutor slapped each member who lost a loved one across the face and then had the nerve to spit in their faces.

    I was upset that he got possibility of parole. But judge described his reasoning
    well. Jake agreed to cooperate, which should be recognized in some way.
    He still gets 32 years before parole possibility. That is different than his father
    and brother.

    He’ll never get out even with the “possibility” of parole. The review boards will legally review his case(s) and that’ll be that. They’ll go through the motions and then just deny him. Look at Charles Manson… he’s deader than a door nail.

    I think this judge, as he is reading out the verdict count one count to count three, should state the name of the victim, count one say the name of the victim ,life, count two, name of the victim life, count three and so on.     It's just so shocking and incomprehensible - 8 life sentences and he's allowed parole at 30 years? Hopefully the parole board will do the right thing and deny parole for the 8 life sentences.

      George should’ve been the one cooperating. He actually would’ve had a chance at a lenient sentence. There was never any possibility he was going to beat that case. He got some terrible legal advice apparently.

    This infuriates me that a seated and well-seasoned judge would allow a convicted serial killer/mass murderer the possibility of parole. He should never see daylight again. My heart goes out to the victim's family. This evil family or pack took out an entire family. This judge should be investigated thoroughly for wrongdoing regarding this sentence. This courtroom and the judge is a sad and disgusting joke.

      Defendant plead guilty in a plea agreement rejected by the new Judge. All plea agreements are subject to acceptance by the trial court judge, and why the state dragged out sentencing is questionable. Claiming fear of losing a witness is not valid. Witness could have died or been killed before Wagner Sr's trial. Very odd how the State prosecutor has run this case despite how terrible Judge Hein has behaved!

    This is bull crap... His deal was made when they took the death penalty off the table. So his brother exercised his constitutional right to go to trial and since he didn't go to trial he gets credit for that because he "cooperated." This judge is a disgrace to the bench. No just for these family members.
