RNG made that first floor clearable without touching any enemies: just pick up the Wiggle Noggin and the Maternal Sculpture and carry them back to base, then walk to the exit and you'd have perfected it. The two treasures were both far away from the enemies in the middle of the floor.
I kinda suspect raocow was worried the flying guys would attack his pikmin while they were carrying them back... given the talk about "do I need to go for him? Well, he's flying, it's too dangerous"
I love how the sublevel straight up gave Raocow the two treasures directly next to the ship, but wanted to play in the pool with Mr Explosions and Mr Grabhands. Pikmin 2 breeds violent tendences. Edit : Silencers Pokos worth in JPN is 666. -Backseat below- I say use Day 29 and Day 30 to grind up enough purples to get the 1000 pikmin treasure, and then on day 31, return to the Wistful Wild and do the berry event outside of Hole Of Heroes/Dream Den.
He’s usually the one to go out of his way to not kill enemies unnecessarily. Interesting to see the opposite here. And then he goes and ruins it by drowning everyone!
You don't need two days to grind the purples. The candypop buds respawn each time you re-enter the cave. Converting 100 of them in a single day is easy.
Love how raocow had the game give him Sublevel 9 for free...and he chose to instigate against the Careening Dirigibugs, leading to the most lethal bathtime~ If you noticed, Sublevel 10 is actually darker than other areas in this cave even with the Solar System: this is due to using a likely earlier lighting settings file compared to everywhere else incompatible with the final game's lighting system(it has a 0000 designation instead of a 0001 designation). In fact, coming here without the Stellar Orb collected makes the room brighter~ Love that the Silencer is worth 666 Pokos in the Japanese version. I mean, doll heads give off that kind of energy, and the fact it blinks when you move it around doesn't help. Ultra-Bitter Spray's good for just removing Spotty Bulbears and Gatling Groinks from play, or just not dealing with most annoying enemies. There's a reason it didn't come back in the series after this game. Mitites drop nectar and don't scare Purple Pikmin, so that's something to remember for how little is left in this adventure. And the one time you did kill them was a time you BITES ZA DUSTO'd, so they aren't in the Piklopedia.
"(it has a 0000 designation instead of a 0001 designation). In fact, coming here without the Stellar Orb collected makes the room brighter~ " Ooh, underflow glitch!
I remembered the segmented crawbster to be a much worse experience with detection of hitting walls. Must be a romhack only issue. 14:50 Yep, there are indeed no more upgrades to be gotten in the wistful wild.
The angle of impact needs to be sharp enough, or else he will roll-along the edge. I think that's more just about play style (how you kite him) than emulators or romhacks. Certainly I had it happen to me once on the Gamecube.
7:45 HOLD UP THERE PARDNER How will you handle the ports for the final cave then? If you get all the final treasures in the last cave the game will kinda be "over" from a presentation standpoint with the game whisking you away for the final cutscene like it did last time. However, you can go back into the save file and look at the treasure/creature entries. I'd say it's worth doing that, but it would be a good idea to make that it's own little post-playthrough epilogue video. Also, when you do your purple farming you might want to go back to Glutton's Kitchen real quick to get the yellow candypop bud, if bestiary completion is a thing you care about.
Raocow you have some strange instincts when you enter "Panic mode" you tend to stand RIGHT in the middle of whatever hazard the pikmin are dying to whistling them repeatedly. Which just calls them...right back into that hazard. It happens a lot with Bloweys and well water sometimes too. Good job with the boss though! He's kinda infamous for being one of the toughest in the game to get down.
I always found it oddly endearing when the crab boss would smack the wall after getting up. Like it was cussing and fuming and just UGH slam that claw into the wall, yeah!
I find it really puzzling that you restarted at 11:57 when you had the boss almost dead with only 6 lost reds I guess it just feels bad to increase the pikmin casualty count.
I'm glad Raocow finally discovered the merits of Spicy Spray - the first time you get it, you're presented with a barrier that takes a bit to bring down, and the expectation is that the player uses their new tool to remove it, but Raocow just obliviously ate the brick, and I guess he never learned how useful it was, prior to recent events. I think he used it once during the Queen Bulborb during an attempt? I suppose it could be a good thing, since he now has these stockpiled resources to work with at the end of the game, but if he had known their value sooner, would he have made more of an attempt to gather berries?
The Wiggle Noggin is one of my favorite treasures!! So silly Nice job on the boss! The Segmented Crawbster is one of my favorite bosses in the game; it looks super cool and the fight is fast-paced but totally manageable with a small, elite squad!!
Not gonna lie, it was pretty funny how the flying guys kept interrupting your trying to think. Then, you don't notice you dismissed the purples too close to the water because you're getting on with talking x3 I find it pretty interesting how you didn't clear-out the mould when you were doing the enemy clear. Then the berries would've been waiting today, and you would've probably got an extra cycle of growth from the flowers! But still, yeah, absolutely getting as many berries as you can is key to some of these last dungeons. TBH I bet the spicy spray would've let the purples one-shot the crab, since they almost two-shot him without. But it's understandable you wanted to protect your purples-profits from the cave.
the wiggle noggin was also in my top 5 treasures as a kid. so funny until now, i've not really understood the segmented crawbster's place in these last three dungeons? like it felt so out of nowhere as a kid compared to the others, but I think maybe it's cause it's between bug and aquatic, and "bugs" are kind of the focus of this game... pretty smooth run through the cavern of chaos all things considered! the next hole is the Kicker though
raocow wasting a bitter spray and NOT resetting is the perfect example of why Pikmin works better with a timer, you're less inclined to reset and start from a checkpoint if that checkpoint is after like 8 minutes of accomplishing tasks
@@TheSBWproductions ...i think it's also vastly easier to make up the difference when you're right in front of the plant that makes it rather than 14 floors deep in a cave, whether that plant is an onion or a spiderwort
@@TheSBWproductions yes, what i'm saying is in both cases the incentive is reasonable risk mitigation; if you were 8 minutes into a day and lost most of your squad with no real upramp from there the incentive would also be redo the day instead of eat the hit (esp in pikmin 1 given the amount you have on a given day matters immensely for keeping momentum vs time limit)--in a cave, where the most you get is bulbmin or queen buds, a small amount is equivalent (albeit raocow *does* take it to an absurd degree, few disagree there--I think he just doesn't like seeing them die period really) "i'm restarting" isn't a new phrase for rao's pikmin playthroughs; watch the Final Trial episodes for literally this in effect

When you think about it, crustaceans are basically "ocean bugs."
Interesting, I've never seen both types of berries sprout on the same plant. Though I don't tend to farm berries much in the first place.
Only occurs in the Wstful Wild, and there are much better places and ways to farm.
