One of the best playthroughs, one thing I noticed is that streamers who go with Aerith's route get more emotional and start to ugly cry towards the ending, just watching them made me cry even after experiencing the ending many times. I'm not saying that other streamers weren't emotional too.
When Aerith pushes Cloud into the flower bed in the alternate world and Sephiroth walks in, when you realize what it is, it's like grieving Aerith's death multiple times.
When Sephiroth started laughing at cloud after killing her, I literally wanted to kill him and right after he flicks aeriths blood towards cloud with his sword, he is simply toying with cloud, I fucking hate him.
Agreed, the ending was phenomenal. Great playthrough! It’s disappointing to see how many people are complete assholes to others who have their own theories when they also have zero idea what’s going on. Part of the fun of this game, even going back to OG, was the theorizing of what happened and is going to happen. Very weird for certain people to feel the need to ruin that

I feel you there man 🙂 this scene has always been an iconic experience even from the OG version. we will see soon, how the final chapter will tie up everything from the entire FF7 compilation. He did try to upend the last 7 seconds...but still it happened
I think its a combination of this being Cloud's head, Jenova mind screw, and Aerith manifesting as a Lifestream ghost. Cloud has a history of ignoring/blocking out trauma to the point of deluding himself. The JENOVA cells allow Sephiroth to take advantage of this fragility and screw with his brain. Deluding Cloud into thinking Aerith is alive so he can break him further when he realizes she's dead is very par for course. To add to this mess, these alternative worlds are born from peoples hopes and dreams, they're like temporary nightmare or wish-fufillment worlds within the Lifestream. Cloud's desire to save Aerith was so strong it literally created a world where she "lives." However, remember, this world only exists within the Lifestream, it's temporary. It's a wishful dream that will eventually fade. Aerith (as seen in Advent Children) can appear as a ghost to ppl who are Lifestream-sensitive. (Nanaki felt her touch, Tifa briefly glimpsed the "living" Aerith, and Cloud's having entire conversations w/her.) However, because Cloud's reality is merged with his dream where Aerith lives (cracked sky), he doesn't realize/accept that she's dead and is a ghost. The tagline for Rebirth is "What is fact and what is fiction?" Cloud can't see the "truth" in front of him. He is literally living in a fantasy world, making it hard to discerne what's real and what's an illusion
I cried so much too :(… couldn’t pull it together to fight Jenova without a long pause lol. The music and Aerith’s theme is so emotional and impactful. it’s not going to be the same without Aerith- she was the heart and soul of the group. Love your reaction and videos bro- keep it up. Rebirth was a masterpiece.
Great reaction. This game confirmed what I've been thinking since Crisis Core, and that is that Zack is the protagonist we should've had all along. Still have love for Cloud, but my man Zack always drew the short straw and ran with it, even though he deserved much better.
