- A very informal video review on my Walther KK500 Smallbore Rifle from McKenna Shooting Sports.
There are a few things I forgot to mention on the video.
1. The rifle as you see it weighs 6.35 kilograms (14 pounds).
2. I forgot to talk about the parallelogram joint in the rear of the stock that allows it to be offset. Here is the link to the official Walther video showing the joint in action.

3. Here is the official Walther video showing the adjustment of the cheekpiece.
• KK500 ALL-IN-ONE Backe...

If this kind of presentation is made for the first time, it's pretty awsome! I want more videos like this one!
Thanks for the video! I've recently taken up smallbore shooting again after a gap of about 25 years! This looks like an amazing rifle - certainly a bit more advanced than my dear departed BSA Martini!
Awesome video. I thought you did a great overview of your beautiful rifle!
Hey bro great video buddy
Thank you very much for this review.
Thank you for pronouncing “ambidextrous” properly
It irritates me to no end when I hear "ambidextrious".
That gun is designed and made with listening carefully to the shooters.. thats the way to go with any produkt that needs to perform with humans handeling it. Although circumstances are different I wonder how long it takes before the millitairy will incorperate some of these ideas for their sniperrifles..
Military sniper rifles are a totally different animal and are constantly evolved from. Input from soldiers, but have to be much more robust vs a target rifle.
lovely rifle and video...thank you sire

Hi Jober: Why do Walther offer the KK500 in a 650 and 690mm barrel? Why would you purchase this in a 650mm configuration over a 690mm configuration?
The 650mm barrel is available in a smaller diameter so this version of the KK500 is lighter and has better balance suited to those who may be smaller in size.
Great vid! Thank you for sharing! I'm considering buying one very soon. One question: about those two screws on buttplate. Are they movable to the left side, for I am a lefty shooter?
I'd also like to know this if anyone knows the answer it'd be appreciated.
What are the advantages of a 690 vs a 650 with a long bloop tube? Also edited to ask: does the parallel linkage on the rear of the stock eliminate the need to cant the rifle when you offset it?

Hi Jober: Have you or could you do a review on the KK500E, I am interested in the functionality of the Electronic trigger, how it is charged, how long the charge will last and if your aware of any issues with this trigger mechanism. Is it different to the mechanical trigger mechanism? I am looking at purchasing a new rifle and like the look of the KK500, I have heard stories of trigger issues with the mechanical version. Interested in your take on the 'E' version. Cheers
i don't have access to anything with an electronic trigger unfortunately. my preference is mechanical always, don't want to worry about a dead battery
@@jobervelasco8614 Thanks Jober, I cant seem to find anything about it any where, I am about to purchase so I will stick with the standard trigger. Cheers
Great review.
Does your Walther have a favourite ammo or are you obligated to use a particular brand based on team or individual sponsorship?
I used RWS Championship until I ran out. I have also used R50 and CenterX in my kkj-t and my buddy’s kk300, but there are so many other great low velocity options... Too costly to try them all. Can you save me some time and money and point me to a couple of your favourite training and competition loads?
Many thanks,
Duncan Armstrong In my experience, eley shoots true out of a walther kk500.. would recommend eley sport for practice and tenx for competition..
Can we see the shape of the fore-end of the stock (to see how it fits in the hand)?
Heyyy how long is your rifle. :)
Walther kk500 or Anschütz 54.30 which is the best?
Walther
How Accurate does it shoot?
Sir which one is better kk500 or anatomic.. I m little bit confused in between these two rifle that which one i should buy..
Rohit Singh KK 500 Expert and KK500 Anatomic has a wooden laminated Body,Both are same
If you are talking about LG400 Anatomic it is just also like it just a body of lamimated wood is added LG400 And KK500 are for diff events
@@vaibhavchandrakar2828 mostly correct but the kk500 expert being an aluminium stock has lateral adjustment of the rear section unlike the laminate anatomic stock and of course the lg400 is an air rifle and not rim fire
How does it compare to the anschutz w 55 action ?
I am not familiar with the 55 action. Is that the new action for the A22 Max rifle? I have not seen one in person
@@jobervelasco8614 its their main action on their rifles, its either the 55 or the 64, or their Fortune action on the biathlon rifles.
@@cliffcox7643 ah ,you mean the Match 54 action. The KK500 is superior to any Anschutz using the 54 action
@@jobervelasco8614 but can you tell me why? You know how some people are enamored by things, but have no basis for it...an emotional but non based reason, which I'm not staying you are. Im just trying to find out the facts about why one is superior vs another before I buy.
@@cliffcox7643 the Match 54 action still uses a very long bolt and the loading port is very far forward. It makes it very hard to load in prone especially for people with short arms that need to lift their arm and reach forward to load a round. One of the Team Canada shooters I know couldn't physically reach the chamber in prone and had to toss rounds in the loading port.
The KK500 has a shorter bolt with the loading port moved to the rear. The loading port is directly over the trigger. This enables a user to load the rifle (especially in the prone position) without having to remove their elbow from the ground and reaching forward to insert a round in the chamber. This had proven to be especially advantageous to everyone. It is a feature on the KK500, the Grunigs, the Bleikers, and the new Feinwerkbau smallbore rifle.
How much cost it please?
in USA, it costs approximately $6000 USD
So... how much?
Outland 4599 Dollars + Ammunition of your choice=1500 Dollars+1500 dollars for equipment
I have to talk to you personally is there you insta account handle
My Instagram is the same as my channel name
Can we see the shape of the fore-end of the stock (to see how it fits in the hand)?
