Dan can really turn South Beach Sessions into one of the top interview spots. Truly great at asking questions that prompt insightful responses and (most importantly) laying out and letting the guest talk
Big Dan Lebatard fan his whole awesome career and with all of his characters on the show Dan stands out by far. In this world of fake people I applaud Dan for being as real as anyone can be in this platform. Thank you Dan. Your fan Jeff. An American living in Vietnam. You are a pleasure my friend. ❤😊
Yea he is absolutely spectacular. We're lucky to learn from him. My buddy told me about him in 2002. Very smart man and like you said. Knows how to ask questions and understand ❤
I love everything about SBS. I know we all love the regular show and all the bits and humor but SBS is a great reminder of how great of a talent and real journalistic mind that Dan has.
Insight. Now have a better appreciation of Kevin Hart. Plus, he said “do do.” (I may be older, but can still be juvenile.) Thank you everyone, thank you Dan.
10:41 Kevin is 1000% right. Decades ago we weren't given a good playbook at all. When Gen-X and millennials were kids, the majority of us were told, "Do well in high school so you can go to college, and then you'll get a good job." We were sold a false promise, which is why you see the student loan debt in at the height it's at. College isn't for everyone, but 25-30 years ago, we were told it's the only way to find success outside of the outliers (pro athletics and entertainment). Financial literacy was NEVER discussed in school, and it should be made a part of everyone's curriculum in every school in the country.
Amen. This bugs me. When I graduated high school, I went and did tree work in Texas, got staph infection and had to go to the hospital and my credit was ruined IMMEDIATELY. I didn't know anything about any of it, and I didn't start learning until AFTER I was behind the 8 Ball, badly. It still upsets me all these years later.
I'm not a tin foil/conspiracy/hidden agenda type of guy but I've always wondered/questioned why "financial literacy" wasn't taught every year of high school (free education)? "They" don't want to share the knowledge. Many industries need an uneducated workforce. I feel if all were properly educated the retirement age would be 50. Just sent my kiddo off to college and told'em take ALL the finance classes you can. Make your money work for you or you'll work til you die.
OMFG GREAT INTERVIEW. As a PreWGA Screenwriter/Creator he is so right about finishing. That is the greatest feeling as an artist whether when i make a drawing and animation a song or a script. Finishing is like an unreal relief.
What I appreciate so much about these South Beach Sessions is that, you can tell, Dan's not just filling "content". It's not just Dan sitting down with his friends in the business "shooting the shit". Its a LEARNING thing. It's the learning that comes with the exchange of ideas, the exchange of experiences. Dan left the comfort of the " "worldwide leader" and Disney and LAUNCHED himself into an unknown stratosphere in the middle of a global pandemic into creating something. A multimedia enterprise where he does from being "the talent" and an employee, to being the boss. He's been open and has made no secret that he believes that he sucks at it sometimes (and his candor and self-deprecation are part of his charm). But you can actually SEE that SBS are therapeutic for him, he really is trying to get better, not just as head of Meadowlark, but as a husband and friend and son, etc. And I he chooses his guests based on qualities and attributes that HE admires, and that he believes can her him get there.
Brilliant interview Dan. Masterful. Kevin always seems to interact on whatever level the host is on when being interviewed. You brought the best and most open out of him. Couldn’t get enough.
“We still hustle when the sun come up crack ah 40 when the sun go down it’s a cold winter, y’all hitters better bundle up but I bet it be a hotter summer grab a onion just to rock it down”
Great discussion: Kevin's message should be a good pep talk for Dan. He feels his emotions - and Kevin wouldn't be a great stand-up if he did not - but as the show cancelation/up-fronts weekend showed he did not make *emotional decisions*. Although in Meadowlark's case maybe Darth Vader Samson is there to help make cold, emotionless decisions so Dan doesn't have to...😂
Everyone has to know the “comfort in discomfort” has been a Mike Tomlin saying long before Kev hit Dan with it here. Overall one of Kev’s best interviews…a lot of perspectives I haven’t seen him give others.
@@brusco459 umm maybe you can't read what YOU said..."only humans see blue"...sooo if someone (A HUMAN) says the sky is blue, they are correct. Loving all the hard work Dan is putting in on these interviews but so many videos on this channel have such awful audio balancing/quality its so depressing. I want this channel to succeed but holy fuck having Kevin Hart on a big interview and we still can't get audio even slightly professional
Loved this segment love Dan one on one with a guest. But.... Why cant your audio team figure out the mic issue. I thought it was just Stugotz being Stugotz, but now it seems like the audio team isnt listening to anything when the mics are hot. You guys are way too big for this to happen for weeks.
Love Dan's deep interviews. Excellent work and content. I'm a 20+ year Lebatard show faithful and the show is great - without Samson. With him it suffers multi-dimensionally.
He does try hard and work hard and appease hard. Some people overcompensate in quantity to defend their legacy when they realize their craft is limited. I think he's becoming the Tyler Perry of standups.
@ainthatsomeshit plus he slaps his name on any and every piece of garbage he can, with no standards for quality....so every word he says is suspect....he is a bought and paid for hack job
Americans keep choosing themselves instead of Us, we chose self in the 70's, then we chose hollywood social politics in the 90's. Are sociology and education went spiraling down from there. He says he had no blue print, YEAH, cause we chose hollywood and what we learn from them, so everything crashed from there.

I’m truly happy to see him receiving guests like Kevin Hart.

Well said! Salute to Dan! *Juju voice*
Great Convo , Dan-O 💯
Dan was in his bag on this one. Loved every second!
All facts.
Lebatard, I hope u recognize the IMPORTANCE of what ur doing with this platform. Much respect, gentlemen. This one might change the 🌎.
Great Interview Dan and glad to hear some of the things Kev said Dan said he needs to get better at
Insight. Now have a better appreciation of Kevin Hart. Plus, he said “do do.” (I may be older, but can still be juvenile.) Thank you everyone, thank you Dan.
Solid interview. One of the first I've seen from Kevin that didn't feel like a long sales pitch.
One of the best SBS interviews I’ve seen. Kevin was very transparent and real about hire he looks at everything he’s done in life. Good job Dan-O

Great interview as usual Dan.🎉🎉 But, I think the people still demand that Bomani v. Stugotz one-on-one interview. 😏

Thank you K ❤

Loved this....killing it per usual Danno! This was very inspiring. Kevin is such a positive and vibrant energy source! 👏
Great interview and conversation
Kevin's Lego metaphor here is pretty damn good.
Loved it. Get comfortable being uncomfortable...got it.
How the heck did Dan get Kevin?! Is Alyson back?
I think Kevin Hart has a sponsorship with Draft Kings
Yes, Kevin basically said that at the top." I'm on your platform"
It's definitely the draft kings connection
@@whsxc12exactly this. Follow the money...

Great interview 👏🏼
Always a great interview by Dan
Great convo
This was a great interview !!!
So good
Now these are interesting interviews with interesting people! Nice work.
That was a great interview, good insights and mindset from Kevin Hart , and good leads into from Dan
You do great interviews!
Dan, you should definitely do this with everyone that works on your show (If they are willing).
One hundred percent. Greg’s episode was beautifully amazing.
Great conversation. learned a lot
Great interview 👍🏽. Keep up the great work 🎉🎉🎉
Great interview. I love Kevin's positive energy
Good stuff but audio levels were a little wack

Kevin just race the kids 🎉. That’s how I do it
Dan lookin good!
Slim face, yoked shoulders
Somehow still plastered the most bloated picture of him for the intro 😂
That’s the “my brother died” weight loss. His words. Not mine 😂
HOLY SHIT...... this is a BIG FUCKING GET!!!
was kinda hoping this was mark normand Lol
My dog kevin on sbs!? Let's go
ok the opening credit sequence has a shot that looks like Dan and Michael Wilbon are about to fight.
You notice Kevin chair is higher than Dan’s 😂
His feet are definitely swinging under the table
