Is that high speed broad band there? I see a pole with what looks like a looping of wire that has been described as this? Might be worth checking into aqs this would obviosly be a really nice point to make sure is available when appropriate of coarse.

I think that little tiny set of doors might have been a "Dumb-Waiter" is what they called them in the US. It's a little elevator for food and or dishes to move between floors quickly, and without doing the steps. Not sure, but my best guess!-Rich
We thought the same at first but there was no space for the elevator to be, it is plain weird.
I think the space with the little doorway in it is probably a lift of sorts where you could put a tray into, coming from the kitchen I surmise for the lairds dinner, to save him coming down to the skullery or the maid having to climb the stairs and his dinner would be warmer!

I think we all had the same idea but unless the house was seriously remodelled at some point it does not make sense, however I suppose that might have happened.
Could the pixie holl8w door be like N old priest hide, like you had in britain duri g reformation. Or maybeit is a dual side shelved cupboard
