This is probably my favorite performance by Joe. All the guys are just so great on this too, Duane with the guitar and the last minute his mic was turned up that the harmony really cam through, Richard had some silky smooth bass and William Lee solid as usual too. Joe may be most known for his lead on Elvira but this it he song he probably shines on the most.
Wish I could see you all live once more , but I’ll settle for my many good memories; your performances at Houston Rodeo have been supplanted by recorded music during old folks home recordings of Elvira as we tone up weekly!
This must have been right around the time that they recorded and put out the song. I've seen videos from some time later where Joe and the whole group really ramped up the energy on this song.
This is so timeless, Joe did a hell of a performance, as did all the boys. RIP Joe you are truly missed😢❤️🌹🙏

Songwriter: Randy VanWarmer ❤ He wrote it about his dad who died in a car wreck when he was 12.
RIP Joe! I guess it never hurts to hurt sometimes♥

Hearing that Joe passed away this song immediately came to mind. Thank you Joe. I guess it really doesn’t hurt to hurt sometimes 😢😢
