Thank you for the Tips, Tim and Landon. So far the material at my place is contained in "The Room" readily available for as soon as I can find it....lol
Hi Gary, and thanks for the kind words! It sounds like you and I have similar organizational styles...notice how I didn't show any images of my tying locations. HA HA! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Great tips, Tim an Landon! I use wire keychains in the same manner as the carabiner for all kinds of materials. It works very well for flash. I snip a bottom corner of the bag and pull out strands as needed. No need to even take them off of the wire. I have also been using the Storehouse 25 box storage system from Harbor Freight for hook and bead storage. I have a simple thermal label maker that I can use to label each individual box for easy identification. A great way to store dubbing is to make your own dubbing boxes also. I use the Lost Creek 18 compartment plastic boxes for this and drill holes in the bottom. A bag of dubbing fits perfectly into the compartments.
Thanks for the kind words, Russell! It was a lot of fun filming with Landon and I look forward to doing so again in the future. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Awesome tips & advice, for newer tiers walk into a fly shop & the patterns available & materials can blow 1's mind, ditto with the internet 🤯 my advice is 3 fold simplify, start slow & don't compare, figure out what your local species are tie for those, simple patterns first, ease into it & your not anyone else you have your own style work with that, tight lines & bent rods 🤘
Thanks so much for the kind words! If you have any questions, or to sign up for my monthly information email, shoot me a message here: tcammisa@gmail.com Thanks! Tim
Great tips. One question, I would assume that when he is making the pattern pouches, he is pulling the materials from a stock location. Or is he purchasing specifically to fill the pattern pouch? I could see a lot of patterns sharing materials.
Hi Derek, and that is really up to each individual tier. I tend to pull from a stock location for my pouches, but that's because I have a rotating array of patterns that I tie at fly fishing shows and events around the country. I also believe that many tiers may simply have a pouch or container for each pattern, especially those who only tie a handful of flies. Hope that helps and would love to know the direction you take it! Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Oh gosh, it's those types of memories we'll never forget. I may have organized a fly box in bed one night...and perhaps even dropped a fly or two! ;-) Tim www.troutandfeather.com

Thanks, Rob, the tips that Landon shared were top-notch! Hope all is well on your end. Tim www.troutandfeather.com
Huge fan of Landon's flies. Already both feet in a storage system for hooks but the baseball card sheets is a good idea.
Thanks, Matt, it was a lot of fun recording with Landon. Did you catch our first video? ua-cam.com/video/G3GIOYiKf8I/v-deo.html Tim

You and me both! Which tip resonated most with you? Tim www.troutandfeather.com
@@TimCammisa probably the one to keep materials organized
My bench is in the spare bedroom, but it is carpeted. Those "bouncy and invisible" hooks that fly off the bench become a real problem!
Same as my setup, my setup also includes hands and knees with a led headlamp and magnet.
I know exactly what you mean, James! Then it's time to turn to this video: ua-cam.com/video/1VFQOEPXH7A/v-deo.html ;-) Tim
Lol, oldest son got a hook in his foot when he was about 6yo. Still cringes when he sees a deer hair mouse. He's in his 40s now.
