Carp Quarry - France

Well now, Carp Quarry is a French carp lake in Brittany that if I'm honest I initially wasn't that enthusiastic about pitching up for a week there.
An outdated tired website, stories of horrendous snags, huge depths (it's an old flooded granite quarry), fish hard to land in a lot of the swims due to the proximity of sheer cliff faces ready to shred your rigs...!
Brother Pete however has been several times and persuaded to me to try the place myself along with his mate Paul.
Gordon the owner is an old school friend too!
This should be interesting.
The reality was very different. The place was beautiful and quite unlike any easy plain flat bit of worn out turf at your typical French 'runs water'.
It's wild, but manicured with comfortable roomy swims, it's quiet and secluded with an abundance of wildlife that'll make your eyes boggle!
Sure the fishing was hard with an algae bloom ongoing but the fish were there... we saw HUGE lumps crashing out allover!
If I'm lucky enough to get more time then i'd absolutely return!
