This is so great that Mockmill has created a flaker for the KitchenAid!! I would have most likely chosen to buy this model last year when I was looking for one, but I have already purchased another German maker; Messerschmidt Flocker attachment for my KitchenAid 🙂We use ours daily and it is always on the mixer ready to go. I will say that anyone who is looking to buy a flaker you will be very satisfied with the Mockmill makers, because I also own the free standing Mockmill Grain mill, and it is the best quality! 💕😍😘

Good for you to mention that all commercially sold rolled oats are heat treated and therefore are processed and less nutritious. Unfortunately the same applies to steel cut oats.

Do you prefer the free standing grain mill over the attachment version? The savings for the attachment are a huge plus, but it’s been out of stock for months, and I’m wondering if the free standing is worth the investment. I’m interested in using freshly milled for the health benefits.
I think it depends on how much you will be using it, how much space you have, and what your budget is. If you have the space and the money, they are so worth it but I have had the attachment for years and it does a fine job! Hope this helps 😊 ~ Anja
This is a grain FLAKER so it makes oat flakes. Mockmill makes an identical looking attachment that will mill grains into flour. Unless you're milling a lot of grains on the highest speed, it will not heat it up.

This does do wheat for flour, correct? Is it at a low RPM so it doesn’t heat up the grains?

Is the stand alone flaker better in some way?
It's the same mechanism but the attachment uses the Kitchenaid as motor so it's really personal preference
