OMG! I'm so glad you two did a video together! I follow both of you and I love your spirits! I plan on moving to the Netherlands in about 2 years and all of the information you two have provided has really helped me!! Keep it up!!
Very nice video, Cheryl. (A little tip: next time try to keep the top of your head in the frame 😉) Is the Asian store you speak of called Amazing Oriental? If not, be sure to go there for Asian products you won’t find in any of the other ‘toko’s’. Amazing Oriental is located in Ypenburg and downtown The Hague, where I live. There are 24 of their stores and 2 of them in Amsterdam.
I really enjoyed the video! I’m also living in Vancouver now and me and my partner are considering to move to Netherland before we actually start to expand our family.
Cool video! I can relate to lots of things you two mentioned! :) Nice Asian grocery stores in my opinion: one on Nieuwmarkt, called 'Amazing Oriental', also one at the end of Albert Cuyp street called 'C&C Asian Market. There's also a really big super market in the south, also called 'Amazing Oriental'. Maybe this helps! :)
I live in Amsterdam too! you should go try my bf & I's fav handpulled noodle place on van woustrat its called langzhou beef noodles! there are good asian places you just have to find them. there is this ramen place too on the 4th floor of dun yong and its super yummy authentic Japanese ramen
It's funny that when you have kids you'll both plan to move back to Canada / Australia. Dutch kids are the happiest in the world mainly because of the freedom they have (biking!). Certainly in Canada your kids are locked up till they have their driving licence. All outdoor activities need a grown up to accompany them. So the Netherlands doesn't only give your future kids freedom but also the parents. There is a fellow Canadian with a UA-cam channel called 'NotJustBikes' who moved to Amsterdam after having kids, and to me (as a Dutchie) his choice makes a lot of sense.
Of course there are a lot of benefits and pros to raise kids in the Netherlands. However, there are many intangibles about raising our kids in Canada/Australia, such as our family & old friends 🙂
So fun to do this video with you! Thanks for having me over and the great chat ♥️

Haven't you guys visited the Chinese grocery stores at the Nieuwmarkt (Chinatown), or do you miss too much products there?
We have! It has the essentials 🙂
