Sony's Live Action Spider-Verse Cinematic Villain Universe (how should we be saying this) is the worst franchise I have ever seen, already pumping out four of the worst superhero movies ever made.
Madame Web reviews have been calling it the worst superhero movie of all time, but I still don’t know if I like it more or less than Morbius, Venom, or Venom: Let There Be Carnage. With Kraven The Hunter, Venom: The Last Dance, and an El Muerto movie all in the upcoming slate of Spider-Man spin-off movies, I took a step to anaylyze Why The Sony Marvel Movies are so bad in the first place. What connects Madame Web, Venom, and Morbius besides having that Marvel logo in front of it, or all three being Spider-Man villains? There have been rumors of a Sinister Six movie (especially after the Morbius post credits scene), but why on Earth would any of the three Spider-Men (Toby Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Tom Holland) want to sign on for this?
Sony doesn’t seem to have a concrete plan on how they want to handle Spider-Man at all right now. Madame Web implies that Emma Robert’s is Peter Parker’s Mom, Sam Raimi thinks Spider-Man 4 with Toby Maguire could happen, and Venom 3 still won’t be taking place in Kevin Feige’s MCU.
In this video essay, I want to explain Why Sony Can’t Make a Good Marvel Movie, and why trying to copy the Marvel Cinematic Universe by creating a Spider-Man Villain Cinematic Universe is a bad move on Sony’s end.
We will explain why Madame Web sucks, why Morbius is terrible, and why I still can’t decide which Venom movie is worse…so go watch the worst superhero movie ever made (any of the four listed above will do) and let’s talk about why Sony is Killing Spider-Man with it’s Villain Cinematic Universe.

I think you should Atlantis give Venom a chance, it's hit or miss for some. I love it
Sony is really an enigma. On the one hand: they create masterful animated films and games based on Spider-Man = Gold;
On the other hand: they create these weird spin off movies about villains that noone knows or cares about outside comic space (except Venom, he's well known) and they restrict creative vision of the directors THAT CAN make good movie = PAINFUL AGONIZING FAILURE.
But...I WILL DEFEND VENOM MOVIES, especially the second one, because those movies are self aware (but second one is the most clear about it) that they are stupid movies and romance comedies between Tom Hardy and Tom Hardy. Not to mention that Hardy looks to having so much fun during the movie. Two Venom movies are perfect example how you can make stupid movies but you can add some flare into it and some unique style. BUT MORBIUS AND MADAME WEB....NOPE, these are just corporate, made in the board room, studio movies that are so bland that you forget about them very quickly. It's sad, because I would love to see good live action Heist Movie with Felicia Hardy/Black Cat and good Spider-Gwen live action movie but giving how Sony is doing....yeah. KEEP SONY AWAY FROM MCU SPIDER-MAN 4 AND BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE!

Not to be that guy but venom isn't in the comics the way he is in the videogames BUT that doesn't take away from that version being dope as hell and we should emulate that more in the movies. Goofy venom is very accurate but it's not exactly good. I'm all for scary venom.
Thank you for pointing that out! I assumed there was some sort of interpretation at one point like the Tom Hardy one, and just the way I've seen him portrayed in other forms of media I figured the scary version was the much better approach lol. I appreciate the comment!
@@chaseazarianIt's kind of a mix of both really, and usually depends on who the host is. In my opinion the perfect version of Venom is one that is both goofy and scary
I was excited when I heard that Sony was planning a more "darker" r-rated universe as opposed to the childish MCU, and our Venom would be r-rated, but when I saw Venom, it was a simple popcorn movie for once.
Imo Sony should just focus on R rated movies. Their movies are pretty dumb and only saved by memes. Some funny meaty action could at least justify their universe a little bit. I hope Kraven the hunter and Venom 3 get an adult rating. Otherwise, they will be the last movies in this universe.

That was such a chaotic day or two 😭😭 That's when I was editing for my boy Art on Let Me Explain and I worked on that episode, not my favorite show and the only two I remember now are the Hitler and Yogurt one lol!
this is the most genius cinematic universe ever made, taking out all of the awful marvel characters like spidermid, boreverine, the midvengers and others giving the underrated characters the spotlight making them instant classics is awesome

The main thing I’m really sick of is the over the top crude humor that’s been done in marvel recently. Now don’t misunderstand me, I love comedy but wow Marvel is just overdoing it these days. Not everything needs to be a joke. Also I agree the insomniac Spiderman games are great. 😎👍🏼
