This was unfair to Parvej Khan who had to run another long race only an hour prior. He would have had a great chance to beat the winner if it had been more widely spaced between the two events.
Khan can be a great runner, but his race tactics will not translate to elite competition. That race strategy only works when you're the big fish in a little pond. Had he stayed in the middle of the pact, his kick might have given him the winner.
Should’ve went out faster but he’s on tired legs. He wasn’t going to be better than third, Whitmarsh and Essayi are national and world level athletes now and had fresher legs.
He wasn't going to beat the guys in 1st and 2nd anyways. No matter how he raced this, he wasn't going to get a better place. He's just simply not at the level in the 800m to beat the top 2 dudes.
Khan ran that race absolutely perfectly. He had no shot at top 2 after having run the 1500 already. His best move was to run for 3rd and that's what he did. Essayi and Whitmarsh are as good or better than him and they were fresher.
dang, this dude has serious elite potential. gotta be one of the smoothest 145's of all time!
Also look up Wes Ferguson of Nebraska Kearney.
The dude ran 1:45 without even breaking a sweat. Amazing.
And now Sam is silver in 2024 NCAA !!! Congrats !!!
You stay classy San Diego
With that height and big, strong legs, he looks like the 1976 800m winner, Alberto Juantorina.
More than anyone I’ve seen in decades.
Smooth, powerful, effortless. He must be 6 ft,5. Potential Olympian.
Спорт, это то лучшее, что придумало человечество 😊😊😊
Great job Sam! ♥️
He looked like he could have gone 1500 at that speed!

Khan isn’t a 1:45 low guy. At least not yet
A proper moustache can take seconds off your time.
Nice race big fellow

He’s a conference runner, once he gets to anything more major there are leaks in his tactics

And it's his fault. Too much of games. Just run smart.
This man says ‘uh’ a lot. 😂
Whitmarsh didn't look like he was sweating much. I don't know what his PR is, but I think he can go low 1:44.
his pr is 1:44 low
What’s with the caterpillar?
Over the top announcers...
Is this the next Alberto Juantorena?
Dude runs with his necklace in his mouth.
whitmarch took 600 steps asayi took 3000
Aren't runners odd
He started way too slow and hung back way too long
Why is she talking?
Because she is breathing....
