'ore' tasukaru 🙏 It's a running gag, so there's compilations going around of mochi mistakenly using 'ore' just like this. Do look it up, it's quite cute haha
Interestingly, the other half of togabito (whose character uses 'ore') sometimes slips into 'boku' instead. It's cute that it's the other way around like that ww

i think "boku" is more polite than "ore"
For example when you're talking with someone older than you, you should use "boku" to show your respect. But if you're talking with your friends then you can use "ore" instead! :D (that's how i understand and differentiate those words, im not sure if it's 100% correct 🙇)

Adding to mayo's explanation, ore come across as more rough and 'tough', while boku is more humble, often used in anime etc by mild mannered men and young boys (but lots of young boys use ore too). So I think it's not as much as showing respect, but more like referring to yourself in a humble way. In the old days I think women use boku too, but nowadays mostly men use it.
Formality wise, I think 'watashi' is still the ideal, formal one to use if you're talking to your boss, I reckon 🤔
