I loved fishing as far back as I can remember, just some line a hook, worm, line held in my hand and dangle it over the bank and peer over the edge and wait! wiggle it! and bang a wee trout! As a kid that was from a burn in a town called Alyth Perthshire. I moved onto to Salmon growing up. It has been a life long passion! Watching your films has brought many memorries flooding back in a way not many films do. You have a real talent! Many many thanks. Tight lines.
Congratulations on a truly mesmerising and fantastic video concerning our iconic salmon and revealing the salmon fishing season in all its different colours and beauty. Well done a truly polished production and thanks for sharing!
Get onto the BBC and get commissioned for a series! This is better than anything I’ve seen on TV!
Ha! Thanks mate, very kind
Stunning film!
Show me, don't tell me. Beautiful tone poem.
Amazing video it really show the art of Salmon fishing. Tight lines for 2023
Glad you enjoyed it
Talent! Did it again..
Thanks 👍
When I was explaining to my son why I fly fish I told him those several trophies on the wall, those photos in my book, they're the product of hours that turns into days, days that turn into weeks, months, and years; it's pretending - or ignoring - all that time spent flailing away, and remembering the take, the battle, and these days, the release of one of God's creatures whose existence, the importance of which, makes mine pale in comparison. Bravo! great summary of the year. . .and many more to you and yours.
Thanks mate
Superb!
Thanks a lot!

Thoroughly enjoyed this video and particularly trying to identify the various locations particularly in the North and West, well done.
Cheers Steven. Most are famous, some a bit more secret - the majority are found in the Hebrides and the North coast. Thanks for watching
@@spate.flyfishing I've had the pleasure of a cast on most over the years, even Grimersta
What better way to spend 12 minutes 12 seconds…….it took me about 20 minutes though ….playing back to spot the locations …..! Man you r hardy fishing in that snow !…the lengths a man will go to seek a springer out !
Cheers !,
Wonderful video guys!
Thanks! Right back at ya! 👌
That was magical, new sub from Canada.
Awesome! Thank you!
Great video!
Thanks!
amazing video! keep it up ;)
Thanks so much 🤘
Fantastic video, can you share your camera set up?
Hi Chris. Sure can, I’m using fujifilm cameras currently. I have an xt4 and a x-h2s, but some of these shots were on a canon 1Dx and 5d. I use a range of lenses, native Fuji plus vintage and quirky stuff. Alongside that I have a drone I hate, but use sparingly, and some go pros…. Loving your films mate, great to watch and your enthusiasm for learning and getting into the sport is inspiring, hope you have a great season next year 👍
@@spate.flyfishing thanks so much, I am just using go pros but was so inspired by the high quality of your films. Thanks for sharing, tight lines for 2023
I wish the focus was more on the fish rather than the B roll. The fish and catching seem more like an afterthought to me.
Loch Stack at 7.22?
yep
Wading knee deep in icy water, waving a carbon stick in the snow, attempting to catch a fish that doesn't feed in fresh water. We are definitely certifiable.🤣
Love it!
