Is it a waterproof boat or a submarine which can't dive?
And thank you so much for uploading it, I'm going to print it right now because it's awesome
*mind blown*

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
is a normal boat but he filled all holes to protect the module inside
When you threw the ship into the water I was like: "Damn son, that's some confidence you got in that boat!"
Agreed comrade
You should make a RC submarine for one of your videos
The Greater American Society I'd love to see underwater footage of that!
Peter - or a heavy lift ship that can submerge and lift your other ships.
The Greater American Society yea do that
anyone else notice the plane with KFC buckets and paper plates for wings?
BEST IDEA EVER
Holy cats, that boat MOVES through the water! DANG!
Yes
step 1 make boat
step 2 make it fly
.
Gary Owen is that ur real name XD
And you have a Spruce goose
Step 3 add weapons
thats eligal
that was an interesting launch
3d print a boat/submarine with solar panels and satellite transmitter, to receive commands and broadcast video reports etc. Then explore the ocean from your own bed room :)
challenge level 1000! Perhaps if my funding was larger and I had more knowledge of the sea I'd totally try it!
if you did that i would fill it with expanding foam
PeterSripol I'm pretty sure an APM supports boats, do able with that and a solar charging circuit. Perhaps a subscriber milestone special?
i really like this idea. the problem is: the signal to the Rx will only work at surface level. which means: you would need to send a string of code for the entire dive, and then on top of that, hope your sub never strikes any underwater objects before ascending back to the surface to transmit collected data back to you. I see a way around this by creating a follow raft with an umbilical cord containing the power source, solar panel and charger, Rx and telemetry units, sonar sounder, and maby a few navigation LEDs. the cord would be approx 50-100 feet in length and would be slightly lighter than neutral buoyancy with foam rings every 10 feet or so, to keep from snagging on sub-surface objects.
marshalcraft The University of Maine actually used the largest 3D printer to create a full sized, water-worthy boat
The thing I thought when I saw the boat going fast: "That needs some hydrofoils!" Might have a crack at that once I'm a bit more confident with my i3 printer
he did give it some in one of his other vids

make a WW2 German V1 flying bomb. Make the launch rail system to go with it!

Oh shit they stole my line. Haha
Thanks Peter, for all of the awesome UA-cam content! I'd always enjoyed your projects with FliteTest, and I'm happy to see you continuing with your creativity on your own. Keep up the great work!
You ought to make a boat with a working and aim-able water-cannon. And then see how far you can hit stuff from, etc.
hmmmmmmm (replaces water with gasoline) Okay! :D
PeterSripol yassss
Apparently warships with BBs are somewhat popular.
Oh
What am I doing in this private comment chat?
Sorry for ... em
Counter rotating engines/props help with efficiency and steering. Ballast helps with trim and scale speed/wake. Great video!!!!
When he said "sink like the titanic" that reminded me of this story, this guy bought a new boat , it was a small sailboat , and he named it the titanic 2 , it sunk shortly after wards.

Hi Peter. You're a great designer.
I'm building and flying with great pleasure all your airplanes designed for FT since last year with two of my friends and we never get bored.
Best job you are doing for RC passionate.
Thank you for support. Now I will print also this boat because already know in firsthand that is a rock.
Amazing work once again Peter. Very cool design and looks great on the water. Thanks for sharing the files, I may have to print one up in the near future and have a bash myself. Look forward to Part 2 and the finished result.
peter your like the only one i see who actually uses their 3d printer the way i would use it
love the videos bro. I never mind the length there's always good music and something to watch. please continue and if it's not too much trouble produce more per week. Have a great week.
I Loved the video. I have always built my Fishing, and Shrimp Boats the Hard way. One scale board, and hand made board, Piece, and Nail at a time, It takes a lot longer, but The results are Phenomenal, and The Detail is Second to None. I am proud of my way, but your hi-tech way is Great too. If you break a piece of the hull, you can just print a replacement.
5:34 "No vehicles off pavement"
PeterScripol: I'm ten parallel universes ahead of you
5:01 ah Ik why he’s using this boat
To sell 9mm Winchester ammo
The launch was just beautiful
In case you didn't know this, The Lulzbot Taz6 had a bit of a firmware design flaw that causes that vertical ringing in your prints. If you want to get rid of it look up how to change the bed heater from "bang bang" mode to PID mode. It's a very simple firmware tweak and it completely removes the print lines.
That’s the first time I have seen someone say “I’ll just chuck it in the water”
Then full on lawnches it into the water haha
If you have any extra channels on your transmitter/receiver, you could in a storage frame for the lifeboat you made. That would make an interesting way to get a line in from the tug if there aren't any drones available. I also think a kind of leash could be made for drones in cases where they get stuck in a tree!
Now make a launchable life boat off of it and have some one else drive the life boat
Chase H that would be awesome
Chase H he already has a live boat that little orange one that he took to Hawaii
I know bt I want a smaller one that he could launch from the tug boat
oooohhh neat! I suppose I could easily scale down the other one even smaller and launch it!
PeterSripol what I would do for a life boat is pit little weights in the bottom to make it self right quicker. Maybe some in the main tug, for more speed in righting itself.
Lead shot with epoxy makes great ballast, and is very finely adjustable..... Awesome work!
Lol, used like 75 bucks in ammo for the weights😂 I love it
I liked watching you on FliteTest, but your personality and ingenuity really come out in your new videos. Keep it up. Make this thing autonomous.
That is Awesome! You should do a cruise ship!
love it! that would be fun to sail in a hurricane!
t i t a n i x
One thing you'll quickly learn with boats, always use blue loctite on all of the screws.
Please tell me the holes up front are for bow thrusters?!
nah those holes are for those nose rings these hipsters keep wearing nowadays. :D
Holy fuck I love your sarcasm
I know im never gonna do it, but the idea of making a gas powered one, with a F/N/R transmission and sterndrives and a watercooling loop has always fascinated me. BTW im surprised with how strong it is, I really thought it was gonna crack. Also, instead of lead, you could exchange ballast for more range. Probably useless but the amount of LiPos you could get inside there is insane.
Do you have the stl files for the mini tug boat
Yeah
Hey Peter- just dropping a comment here saying I love your vids. Hope all is well with the family. Thank you for detailing your builds, I really enjoy them all, your work is inspiring and meaningful. Please keep it up! I am starting this project and am gather materials for it. Will let you you know how it goes! Take care.
This seems like it would be a good platform to try to make a hydrofoil
Lovely rugged model Peter enjoyed every moment of your video, the rain added dramatic effect too, excellent sealing considering the way you chucked it into the water like a missile ! well done again and look forward to part 2.
thanks man! I wanted to do more in the rain, the lighting looked cool too! but I didint want to get the boat zapped or myself zapped either!
Damn youre growing fast man
I watched till a commercial came on. The first 20 seconds of your video was intriguing.
Is that a chicken bucket wing in the background?! Magnus effect? Excellent build by the way! The boat is Awesome! I just ordered my 3-D printer can't wait for it to get here. Have an excellent week sir, keep being creative.
awesome man! 3D printing is pretty amazing! I would have hated to try and scuplt this thing out of a block of wood, printing was super easy!
PeterSripol True. We're pretty much living in the future!
Jansel Kenneth Tolentino we are living in the present, the future is gonna have more complicated shit
the chicken wing I call it
Nice Benchy
LOOK AT ME!!! LOOK AT ME PETER!!!!. I am the captain now. (once i get done printing)
So glad you have your own channel! Flite Test just isn't the same without you. Keep up the awesome work.
man, you amazing...
3d printing has certainly evolved! Those prints look really good and sollid. Pretty amazing. And you also designed the boat really well. Cool video!
do you have a plan for any of the builds?
thumbs up so he can see
thanks😃
Skittels Scott you are the clingiest person that I have even seen in a comment section
Hey Peter, just a tip. If you're going to go so far as to use a respirator when using the acetone (good for you for looking out for your health) you should probably get ahold of some organic vapor cartridges. They're less than $10 on amazon and fit on the mask you already have. 3M part # 6001. Those pink P100's are only good for filtering particulates.
thanks for the headsup! I'll look into them!
PeterSripol No problem. Enjoying your content by the way. Definitely deserving of more subs and views.
Hey Peter, ever do any gun builds? (actual builds, not tinker-toy AR-15 stuff)
*cries in corner*
Whats wrong with my AR-15! hahaha, well I did want to make a quad derringer style .357 pistol in the near future!
Haha, nothing wrong with the AR, they are just literally everywhere, and the majority of "builds" are really more just assemblies. If you havent been, check out the weaponsguild forum for some inspiration. It will blow you mind. Everything from bringing SMG's cut into scrap back from the dead, to some stuff very similar to the derringer build you want to do.
awesome to see you care about the final product
Always a good day when Peter uploads a video 😆
TMac FPV you should have more likes

A weapon -laden torpedo boat, V2 maybe? awesome Peter! one of the largest functional DIY at home builds ive seen! good work!
make helicopter
That would be overly difficult if he is working on a part to of this and the fact that there are about 10 000 on the market I don't see a point
With that mindset, there are thousands of RC boats on the market. What's the point of this video?
Fun.
Well if you kinda look on UA-cam for homemade rc helicopter there are quite a bit and if he is more interested in doing this then so be it...
And the fact that people are asking for new stuff over and over again does not help
daniel PC/ Xbox
True. I'm not saying we should force him, but hey, why not build a helicopter? Plus I guarantee that there are other boat build guides, so your other argument is invalid.
That’s an awesome bridge over the creek, see that muddy water flowing down
Anyone else excited for the Magnus effect airplane episode.
Levi Cerra can't wait!
always love the content you put out and I hope you are able to keep providing your STL files for free.
The music is singing 'ABS, PLA, ABS, PLA'
Damn you now thats all i can think about🤣🤣🤣
Just watched it with four of my kids and we loved it!
make a big gun for the deck
Awesome. Flitetest died when you left. You were the brains/ engineering that they all lack.
GoPro dog
a good way to make custom gaskets is to 3d print a little mold for the shape the gasket, then disolve electrical tape in acitone, then pour your disolved electrical tape in the mold
Is there a vid on the mini tugboat?
Do you have any documentation of the enclousure you use for the 3D printer? I'm really interested
Man Peter! You are a fantastic builder! Keep it up.... love your videos, ingenuity and the uniqueness of your builds!
In 1 day I saw 15+ videos from your channel man. Love it. Keep up the exploring.
Lol. I loved the bolt sticker at the beginning. And the fact you are using .22 brick as weight. 🤘
This channel is great. Inspired me to make a cardboard, duck-tape and hot-glue boat.
been working on a boat project on and off for a while now and have the whole hull done but haven really had the time to figure out the drive shaft situation. could you make a video about this? not really familiar with how they work and keep out the water and everything
Do you not have a parts list for everything you used? It's difficult to follow along and get the right stuff
Amazing videos, you are such a help to people in the hobby! and free files! you are amazing and a step above the rest!
it's really cool to see the use of new technology
so glad i found a new channel to binge watch
Peter you are the man I never laughed so hard in quite some time over your water test ,, take care and fly low and slow
Really a great Model! And... well done in the editing and describing :-)) I enjoeyd it a lot! Best wishes and thumps up... Holger
Wait wait wait... did you film 5:37 after you had lost the prop? Because if it's filmed chronologically the prop fell off before the boat was even in the water. If you pause around 5:40, no prop on the left side.
you got me! the other launch wasn't as cool, so i substituted it for that launch!
Way cool. I didn't think tugs were made to have a planing hull. I'm sure with a bit of ballast and perhaps a bit of scale speed, it will be a great to sail.
I have utterly no clue about RC boats but from my engineering class if you put it on a gear train, I will have less speed which is realistic and also more torque which is even more realistic! It's a really good build anywayz :)
Came out nice. Is there any way to really smooth out 3d printed items? Brush and acetone all over?
Using live ammunition as a ballast is just great :)
As far as I am concerned, the shape of stern part would be with decline over the props, so it wouldn't upnose so hard on higher speeds :)
yep! if the lipos short out on the water "KABOOM"! I may update the stern to reflect the changes, She also could use alot more ballast in the bow, it was super high above the waterline in the video!
I love the shots on the boat -They look so real!
just a suggestion you should use overlapping joints for your hull for better water proofing, easier allignment and strength of joint. really surprised you and others do not do this in their multipiece constructions. then a bilge pump for any water in the hull. also some bilge keels will help with roll stability.
Very cool, Can you make a fire boat set up with a front fire hose and cannon? Are you going to add a sump pump motor set up for the rear to keep the water out if you happen to get any in the boat?
do you need a hood around a printer to use abs or can you just heat up a small room that the printer is in??
I really like the initial launching technique.
If you counter rotate your props it will run way better. The wobble was mainly related to that.
this is the video that earned my subscription :). Binged some of your videos, and after this one, I felt it was worth it. Keep having fun
With this boat you should make like a little cargo bins to put on it that would look cool
How do you just get this good? What pushes you to go so far?
how to get the small model on the 3d printer and what printer did you use?
I believe he uses the same printer all the time luzbot? I think that's it the taz6 $2500 11in by 9 by 9
I'm getting some "Perfect Storm" flashbacks. You need a mini George Clooney and Mark Whalberg in the wheel house
The Lulzbot ARF edition is awesome!
Reported!
even if it rains outside he has the determination to make this vid for us on time.
Now I see what happens to a displacement hull when you put too much thrust behind it! It sinks down into the water! Cool tug!
I see information on what kind of 3D printer you're using, and information on the transmitter you're using (I use a TGY-i10 myself, by the way), information on the cameras and microphone, tripod, editing software... but I don't see anything about the laser engraver/etcher/cutter you're using. What kind of engraver/cutter is that?
Hey peter I think that you are an amazing inventor and make great videos so don't listen to haters on the internet and keep the cool vids coming!
you should have that thing deploy a tiny little ROV off the back of it.
Very cool boat Peter, i love watching all your builds. (even if they don't all fly)
an ROV is definitely on the to do list! got to figure out how to make a mini one first!
a friend of mine recently dove 4km into the marianas trench with a full size. underwater fpv is pretty cool (once you get to the bottom).
keep up the great content and good luck with the mini ROV.
how do you seal the axle to the propeller to prevent water from flowing in?🤔
