I love these guy very much and I adore their music. Nevertheless, I don't know if it's the sound or what but in my opinion they sound a little sloppy, especially Tosin in the solos. And don't get me wrong I know those are extremely diffcult songs to play and I'm not even close to play as good as they do. I just don't agree with a lot of the comments saying how on point or accurate their playing is.
I have tried Tosin's music many times... I mean it looks impressive, and I know music is eventually subjective, but I can't help but to honestly ask, where is the freakin' musicality? Where are those ear pleasing harmonies and timeless melodies? For the most parts it sounds like a tough guy pissing contest dick measurement fest... And no I'm not your typical blues guy either as I'm a session player for more than 15 years and not at all into conventional music ^^ ...It all just sounds like try-hards who have expiration dates on their products and in couple of years will be generally forgotten... ....... Please don't get me wrong though, I like this guy and his music seems interesting and innovative, but at least to me, melodies are one of the most if not the most important aspect of a good and meaningful musical piece, as without melodies, the musical journey and storytelling process will be significantly limited. It all reminded me those early postmodern 80' Classical pieces where many professional musicians just wanted to sound different for the sake of being different! And we all know what happened to those so-called musics... They simply vanished forever without a trace and nobody even remember them ever existed! ... ~peace
I think you will need to grow an appreciation for the sonic character of their riffs, the heavy fizzy distortion - staccato 'baw-chaka-baw' 'djent' sound. And then you have a context for placing the melody. The dynamic is somewhat flat if you hear the sonic quality of the rhythm sound/riffs and that's what I think immediately puts people off. I'm fond of even the dirtiest guitar tone having good head room and place for drums to breath. If you can get used to this side of their sound, then you might actually begin to appreciate the melody. I had trouble getting into this and Tosin is not in my playlist still, but I kind of spent time trying to understand the sound. I can enjoy the melodies now I think. Most importantly, if you can't start to enjoy the 'bw-chaka' then don't try to get the melodies, it doesn't work.
@@b-sideplank Well, there are many great artists out there who are neither as much market-driven! nor do they have their own guitar company! what a great song for beginners

Man, Javier's finger independence is straight up scary, it's like he has complete control over every muscle in his hand.
Just the perks of having a Spanish Classical background
they actually sound amazing with the backing track so low in the mix. you can really hear how tight their playing is.
yep - truly impressive
They were tight and they knew it. They couldn't stop smiling.
I've never seen just Javier and Tosin play, definitely a treat thank you for the upload!
Great musicians making mind candy that moves away dark clouds.. thank you brothers! 🎸🙌
It moves through the dark clouds.

Seriously. Holy shit. What happens when people attempt to record two electric guitars? Why is one always just out there in the void somewhere.
Whats the first song called?

he doesn’t need to sing, he does it with the guitar
Is Javier playing the new open core Fishman's or his old pickups or something? I can't see that trademark Fishman's line on the pickups.
Song titles, anybody?
But can they play Smoke On The Water?

I doubt
No, they can't
There actually is a vid up with aal playing Smoke

It would have been awesome if this had been mixed properly... 8:28 - 8:44 sounds pretty yucky.
