    Can you share how you manage to avoid object collisions when you move around in space? I tend to run into objects we before the camera is near them causing the to flatten.
    Also is there a way to get a flat black or green screen background to render against?

    • @browngrafix
      @browngrafix  8 років тому +10

      +Lawrence Diggs
      Hi Lawrence -
      Sorry, I don’t an easy answer to your collision question. I generally find that patience is my best tool. After ensuring that my “Far plane” is large enough to encompass all of the scenery that I want, I try to make small, consistent transitions between each keyframe. I also try to render a preview after about
      every 5-10 new keyframes. If there are glitches, I correct accordingly. It's a slow and tedious process, and even with all that - I still get occasional collisions with the camera. If I can get away with it, I do my best to just edit them out with Premiere.
      For your flat black or green background, you could just change the color settings for “Depth” in the Lighting panel, or you could create a single-colored jpeg and use that for your background image (under “Back pic” tab). Depending upon the type of fractal you are rendering, the amount of background that you’ll see will depend upon your “Far plane” setting.
      Hope that helps.

    incredible! how long have you been working on it? I myself use a small, self-written mandelbox program for real-time music visualizations. unfortunately, there is no time for long iterations. this detail-accuracy does not work with my concept.

    • @browngrafix
      @browngrafix  5 років тому +2

      @udo kaiser, thanks for the compliment! Most o f my videos take someplace between 3 to 6 months to create, depending upon the complexity of the fractal scenes and whatever other distractions may be going on in my life in general. Kudos to you on being able to write a program to render mandelboxes. I gave up on programming back in the DOS days.

    • @udokaiser9655
      @udokaiser9655 5 років тому

      yes, the dos-times .. I started programming later. first basic, then turbo pascal, via c to c ++. all because of the fractals! ;-) wanted to see at 2d mandelbrot - times what happens when you enter more complex equations. I grew up without a computer (born 1956). yes, I'm not that good at mathematics. I was just able to resolve x (+1) = x ^ 2 + c. but then it was over :) noticed that the programming languages can do that much better than me.

      @browngrafix  7 років тому +12

      Hey great, glad you enjoyed it! MB3D does take a while to get comfortable with, and even then it takes some patience before you find just the right settings. Stick with it. The coolness is there if you play around with it long enough. In regard to the "how" of this animation, it's basically just changing the parameters of the formulas throughout the sequence. For this one, I think I manipulated the "JCube3" IFS formula to get that twisty effect on the Menger structures.

  • @trolltaker

    What sort of hardware are you generating this on these days, Tru? Remember trying to render a 320x200 on a 386 processor? I wrote a program that would generate a set of batch files to render a segment on each of several computers overnight at work. When they were all completed, another program would "stitch" them together. That was the only way I could get a reasonable resolution on an image that contained any transparency.

    Like a anolog tv it runs at good speed, it has incoming and processing and outgoing information. How come computers can't be so simple and fast. Like to not wait it just does that incoming and processing and outgoing.
    To be like a continuous simulation what ever each program or application be . No matter how much data or processing power it takes.
    If a vhs device can be so good at it why computers have to be so awesome to run big programs. Simply like the tv screen as well no matter what was in screen, it played out ok. But at same time a computer can not achieve the same effect . To provide to the screen and mess with said screen or incoming and outgoing information ? Simply changing the few of it and the next reaction can occur. Like fractal geometry it is effect of continuous equations or information or patterns.
    In which detail in the screen resolution could be higher and more hyper realistic down to the effect of microstructures, for video or video games . In which games could pertain world's of the size of earth as well. Also for understanding patterns or units of something. Anyway as such patterns or details at it's certain speeds some could be super fast too within the details, that most computers today can not achieve .

    This is new space York City. It is a massive fully functioning flying space ship city and is huge. It just floats in space for people to come stop by whenever they want. Many people live there, human and alien. Since new York is the most well known city on earth it was new York style that was recreated for this universal space city.
    But this is only true if the video is Canon. This theory only applies to the first quarter of the video and when it starts changing colours for artistic purposes but was not Canon for new space York City

    Brilliant! And must disagree...Amazing Grace is perfect for this! For me the oppression of organized religion is deconstructed beautifully here and to one of my favorite songs and if memory serves, Amazing Grace was written by William Wilberforce, a British aristocrat who experienced life on a slave ship as a minister (?) I Think. One of the first in his hierarchal class at least to speak out against slavery. For the time being, when I want to clear some old time religious dogma from my space...shall be evoking this very thoughtful video. Blessing Be
