This gave me chills. Watching Robert Glasper crafting chords. The fact that he's working with his son. This whole episode made me disproportionately happy 👍🏿👍🏿
this might be the best episode for their workflow alone! No hierarchy present in the room, just two peers who respect each other working towards the best thing. Takes a lot for family to pull that off, respect
Man, to enjoy and appreciate music together as father and son is one thing... To dig, sample and produce together to create music is even more beautiful. Respect to both - they did a great job here and put a nice feel on their beats.
Now THIS is what we needed. This was an experience, and inspirational. Maybe that's what alot of the low effort ones be not understanding. it's something to fire us up; something to turn to when you got beat block. This is a tool for us, not something to make us feel like it's a favor. This was beautiful to witness.
Imagine being a beatmaker/producer--and you have ROBERT GLASPER on deck anytime (in Riley G's case, he's literally his pops) to collab with and compliment your drums and chops--OR you have even a fifth of Robert Glasper's mastery of keys and music theory itself and you can have quality drums and chops cooked up parallel to you (in Robert's case, by his own son)...This duo literally has the best of both worlds. In no time, they turned that catchy ostinato of erratic U2 guitar plucks into a groove with soul and gravity. The output from these two together and individually (I mean beats-wise because Robert's already a legend in modern jazz IMO) will be inspiring and influential for generations.
Robert's music changed my life. I don't mean in some save me from the darkness type stuff alot of people say about life changing. I mean Robert and his music made my ears start to REALLY listen to music, sounds, arrangements. This man is national treasure.
Lil man got mad ideas and i like how dad check him on the barz 💯, i remember those dayz , locking in the drums before the sample thats 💯, thats me all day 😂😂😂, you can play with the sample in so many different wayz when you do that.
I love watching these on my lunch break in between shifts. Please bring back the consistency with the releases of the Rhythm Roulette series Mass Appeal, thank you🙏🏾
Every gripe I had with the last episode, instantly gone. The RIGHT kind of record store to dig in! They managed to pull a Bob James record, but laughed it off because they knew it would be TOO EASY! They were layering, throwing new chords, getting invested, ENJOYING THEMSELVES! Merry Christmas indeed.
This episode is wayyyyyy better than the Timbaland Episode. It gave a different dynamic. To see Rob and his son create together. That’s a producers dream. 🙏🏾
I am grateful for this platform. It's a safe haven for producers who love the ART. I treat each episode as its own. Thankful and respectful to all the guests who didn't have to make time for the community. Music is an artistic expression. What's great is to see family doing what they love and bond together with it. All luv.
For some reason, I feel like I’m watching Illa J and JDilla cooking 😂 son reminds me soo much of illa j 😂 I’m bout to watch the Won’t Do video right after this 😂 this is awesome
So dope to see the father son tandems in hip hop man. Robert Glasper always been the truth, but that young man reminds me of what I picture Dilla was like as a kid. Dope content nonetheless.
The conversation is better than the actual process. I know Robert is a proud Dad.
Facstsssssss
I agree bro.
You can tell he knows what his son is coming with.
Word.
Not his kid , trust me😂
Producers and their children series is needed
Idk about that
@@mrlofi333 lol
@@mrlofi333 don't watch it then lol why u salty
can confirm, this makes up for the timbo miss step, these 2 are FIRE, love the family love on this ep
pin this comment! 👏
Needed a pallet cleanse after whatever timb did
You would think with all the rare tracks he flipped, he would have done a lot better than that.
😂 no doubt
Remember the old episodes from Denaun Porter, 9th Wonder, Nottz, Khrysis where they used all 3 records 😂
This season is not that great so far
This gave me chills. Watching Robert Glasper crafting chords. The fact that he's working with his son. This whole episode made me disproportionately happy 👍🏿👍🏿
Yes lol this was it
His son sounds like has a bright future in producing.
Breathe taking then the mom dope ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎯Sunnnnnnn

@@pervertedalchemist9944 so we meet again lol
They respect each other. By far the most beautiful rhythm roulette to date. Mama coming in with snacks! They are a team!
Yes I was thinking the same thing, how everyone was on accord, Mama came with the snacks 😮😂😂😂
@ haha yup. Happy holidays to ya and stay safe out there!!!
One of the greatest keyboardist in modern history rocking with his son…priceless. I miss that bond with my son RIP

This is my favorite part as well. This is some of the purest collaboration I’ve seen.
As a new father, there’s no words to describe if I could sample dig and producing wit my son. Respect to the Glasper family
🥃
The amount of happiness, jealousy, and envy this video gave me is ridiculous
The father-son duo and mom are coming through with the yard bird power-up, is next level!!!🔥🔥🔥
Robert glasper is the sample lol.
nah fr !!!! hahahahahaha
😭
Thought it would be more neo soul tribe vibes
Facts!!
Looooooool
Anyone else feels Dilla's presence in this ep? Amazing
Dilla popped up in my head when he first made the drums
Robert Glasper has 5 grammys and has been nominated 11 times.
I know!
Robert Glasper as father and mentor….winning on all levels.
Only the son of Robert glasper can critique his dad like that but also vibe with him at the same time. Love this
When moms came through with the chicken…I understood everything. This a legendary family ✊🏾🔥

Riley G flipped that U2 and didn't even get to the Bob James record yet.
Robert straight up raised his son on Dilla... you can hear it in his whole approach.
most def
Totally Agree

Their chemistry both musically and as a family is amazing to watch

The beats didn’t reflect this though tbh my opinion though
@evokesfv oh...well, I'm sure Robert Glasper and Riley G could never make beats as fire as YOU do.
Father and son being each other’s master teacher! Such a beautiful thing
Can we please get Madlib on here?!!!
NO ONE CAN GET MADLIB ANYWHERE LOL THATS WHY HE MADLIB

dad and son cooking, crazy and it looks like J Dilla was in the room maintaining the legacy,
Riley has the feeling on the drums
They even referenced his song "Lightworks" at the end.
in all my years watching RR this may be the best one

Yea they smoked that! You can definitely tell Robert was playing Dilla heavy Riley because the influence is there. Very dope
I love this . Everything about it even when Mrs G came in with the chicken 😭❤️
Rhythm Roulette might actually be back
What a wholesome family beatmaking sesh!! Loved it!!
Dream duo for any producer. Parent and child. 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
For the past couple of days I’ve been binge watching Rhythm Roulette but this one really made my day father and son!🔥🔥🔥
This has to be up there with the 9th wonder one as one of the best episodes
not even close!!
We gonna sample whatever Rob is gonna make, screen recording is ready lol

I smiled the whole time watching. Family making music together and it’s the holidays. 🔥
