Most light heavyweight sparr heavyweights from time to time so Bivol was clearly not fazed by Canelo's power because he has probably sparred and faced guys that hit alot harder than Canelo.

A rematch is pointless! Bivol will also improve for another fight. He wanted Canelo to hit him harder. He wanted Canelo to hit his arms. It all fueled him. People underestimate how difficult it is to fight someone bigger than them at a professional level. That extra reach, weight and power advantage counted massively against Canelo, and credit to Bivol, he had the skill to back it up and make his advantage count.
But credit to Canelo for risking all this bad press and pushing himself out of his comfort zone as well.
This is what the rest of these guys don’t understand 7 lb more makes a big difference not to mention Canelo gave away some of his speed that has been at 160-168 you can clearly see the weight was affecting him for those who understand the sport
It was poor judgment for Canelo to have accepted a fight with the larger Bivol. He is no Kovolev. If Canelo had just watched Bivol's previous fights with other 175 pounders, he would have seen his power was not going to trouble Bivol. Also it was obvious that Bivol is smart, patient, strong, and very technically sound.
He sounds so much like Gennady Golovkin, especially when he says "No problem." I just want to hear him say "This is boxing".

To be perfectly honest with you, BIVOL out-smarted, out-boxed, and out-punched CANELO... my score was 117- 111. The 115-113 basically means that BIVOL had to win the 12th round to prevent the draw from happening.

I think carrying the weight took its toll on him, he wanted to get Bivol out of there earlier because he knew he didn't have it in him for 12 rounds carrying that extra weight. It's a shame I didn't know more about Bivol, masterful performance and he had a new fan in me, he's a savage!

Canelo has great power but he's tactics are predictable. Everyone knows he coming to walk you down behind a high guard and looking to land big shots. Canelo loads up on about 90% of his shots even on his jabs. Canelo also has a tendency to gas out using this tactic and that provides the opening for his opponent to get off.

@@robertoreal1117 With all due respect, in my humble opinion,... (based on my observation of his career thus far, ALL of the opponents that he has faced),...he is DEFINITELY NOT doing NEARLY ENOUGH. And I think that my comment above thoroughly and completely explains my position in DETAIL. My favorite boxer among the current crop fighters is Bud Crawford. The upcoming Spence vs. Crawford fight is DEFINITELY A LEGACY FIGHT for Crawford and Spence who I feel have better resumes than Canelo and their upcoming fight is ABSOLUTELY THE GREATEST FIGHT OF THE LAST 30 YEARS OR MORE and the winner of that fight,..IN MY OPINION,...will be WITHOUT QUESTION,....the BEST pound for pound boxer on the PLANET. Again, this is just my opinion. :-)

Weight is always a factor, on the Kovalev fight he had the same problems his stamina runs way too fast at this weight class
@@drsawful the Kovalev fight was back and forth the entire fight. He even led in two of the scorecards at the time of the KO. On this fight, saying it was because of weight, is basically discrediting Bivol's part. Canelo got completely dismantled defensively and offensively. He froze canelo since the beginning.
@@omarmega4093 bivol didn't even rough him up with his weight tho. Fury likes to do that. Bivol had him eating combinations all night and with a defense canelo couldn't get through. Thats why bivols arms were the only thing bruised up.

This dude was like a robot boxer. Stuck to perfect basics and counters. Never reacted emotionally when canelo was clearly extremely frustrated. His discipline in his strategy and patience is out of this world. I went in doubting him so much but damn he won me over. That was impressive
