That’s the best looking steering wheel from BMW, the current M wheel is rather awkward, it only suits larger cars like suvs x3-x7 or maybe 7 series

@@josemiguelvigarinhomalho4250 It’s probably either the slip ring or the airbag connectors on the back of wheel. They seat a certain way and will come loose after one wheel rotation .

Hello from Greece.....great, great video! I only have one question regarding the activation of the cruise control unit.....
Which button do you press in order to activate it? BMW F series cars which were originally made with cruise control already installed have a SET button.....first one presses the cruise control button, then the SET button in order to "set" the exact desirable speed.
How do you do that on your new steering wheel since there is no SET button?

I do not understand for what purpose you removed the steering column housing, I replaced the steering wheels in my f20 and it was not necessary to do it....

Can I check - for the airbag of the new steering wheel to work, do you need to key in the code of the airbag of the new steering wheel into the CPU of the car? Or this is not necessary?

Good job mate, I am planing to retrofit cruise control buttons in my f series too. Do i need to disconnect the battery if im not going to disconnect the airbag from the steering wheel? I think i can replace the buttons without disconnecting the airbag. Thanks

You can’t, both button replacement and steeringwheel replacement require the removal of the airbag.

Yes you can but you will need to change the coding for paddles which isn't hard.

The steering wheel is all the same regardless of car and can be fitted to any F series. Just options may be different you may or may not have cruise control or lim function which can be coded in if need be.

You mean a steering wheel from a LHD F30 LCI would fit a RHD F20? Same goes for the heated wheel housing and switch? I'm in Japan and I don't think a heated steering wheel was an option as I can't even find the P/N for it in the online IPC/IPB.

you need to mention F01 F02 since they use same modules

F01 is very different when you remove the steering wheel, and I will show why in another video. You cannot just change the wheel on F01 that simple like the other F series.

No my friend it really is not the same. I can tell you now as soon as you said that, you don’t know what your talking about. F30 is completely different to F10 and F01 😂 completely different modules operate differently
