People tend to forget that the devs are part of a small team in Systemic, they don't work on Gen Zero and the Gen Zero team doesn't work on 2nd Ex, so there's that. The game is going to have a beta test of what they've been working on since the last major early access update and you can sign up for testing it! Hopefully they used that time well!

My only problem with the game is the lack of other players... I'm sure I'd really enjoy it, but I can't ever find a game with others. I played solo, but it gets boring fairly quickly, and none of my friends are interested.

Truly the only thing that bugs the hell out of me is the lore involving the actual dinosaurs. I hate this combo of orc horde and xenomorph take on the dinosaurs along with them making everything carnivorous (including the styracosaurus and ankylosaurus for some reason?) i don't like nitpicking constantly i truly don't. But when the world a project is set in doesn't even make sense from the beginning it really takes me out of the game, it may just be my active pursuit of a degree in paleontology or it may be my deep love of highly grounded but fantastically designed monsters (think monster hunter) thats spoiled me. But the idea of the dinosaurs living in a hive based structure when they are multiple genre (the plural of genus) that are barely related outside of them just being in the Clade dinosauria and working together like an army instead of just being an overwhelming ecosystem really ruins it for me. That being said i loved the actual gameplay, it was extremely fun and i will continue to play but the lore needs a massive overhaul. You can do the giant horde mutant dinosaur motif easily without making it basically human intelligence leveled orcs in the shape of dinosaurs, hell days gone did the same concept really well while also having different infected fill different niches in a new ecosystem created by the apocalypse. The hordes of infected would all focus on uninfected but once isolated again, the infected ate one another and focused souly on their caste's survival rather than working like battalions of an actively planning nation waging a war. (example of what i'm talking about, berserkers would follow swarmers when hunting uninfected but once the uninfected was killed, the berserker just went back to predating on swarmers and being an active predator to other infected while the swarmers reverted back to a herding omnivorous horde that felt more like ravenous elk than an army.)
I see what you mean, I guess maybe since I don't have the background you do, that some of those things were never problems for me personally, but I think they tried to sell the idea of an environment of dinos slowly taking over every nook and cranny of our earth, maybe the execution was off. Yes I have played Days Gone, well, some of it, and I really enjoyed it, interesting infected types and it felt like an ecosystem that would form in an apocalypse, I'm also a huge fan of The Last of Us universe. Thank you for such a well articulated comment, you brought up some stuff I never thought about before. Cheers!

I don't even necessarily dislike the angle they are going for, i just felt it could have been grounded chaos rather than complete insanity all the time. Usually people tell me to "turn my brain off and enjoy it for its stupidity", which i don't really find respectful from any point of view. Implying i can't think and enjoy media at the same time is an insult to the artists working on the project and the fanbase itself. But i do generally enjoy what this game is going for mechanically rather than lore wise so i'll be tentatively following it. But thanks again for the nice comment its appreciated.😃
That's a shame. I definitely understand what you mean about thinking vs enjoying, I think when looking at anything critically you do a great disservice to it by not thinking about it at least a little. Some games and movies are meant to be dumb fun of course, but sometimes it's worth taking a deeper look ya know. Of course, anytime. I want to build a community on this channel where everyone can have an opinion and share it without having everyone who disagrees with them try and rip their throat out as soon as they utter a word XD
This game is a buggy mess with broken mechanics. I have played since EA release and there are serious bugs that have been with the game since day one. They blew by the final release date 2X and now will not comment on a date other than 2023. They promised a new map which I honestly don't believe they can release in a stable version. The original game has never been stable, how could this proposed update be stable? Stay away from this game.

Why dini ai seems, slow? They don't attack and look at you most of the time or seem confused.
Never really had that problem, sometimes they'll ignore you or get stuck but in my experience it's not super common
