Hi there. I've been following your podcasts on the Troubles since spring. Very interesting and insightful stuff. I've been doing my own research on the conflict too.
I completely disagree with Martin's assertion that during the fight for independence (1919-1921) that the IRA had very little activity during that conflict as one of my relatives was in 2nd Northen Division of the IRA which covered Derry and Tyrone.
And was involved in Numerous ambushs against black and tans.
And you know there's the troubles in the North that happened in 1920-1922. Which my Grandfather I'm almost sure was in involved in.
And if your interested I'm also related to victims of the Glenanne gang and other aspects of the conflict.
Anyways keep up the good work. Look forward to more of your content.

I actually found out recently enough that my own great-grandfather Sean Lehane (from west cork originally) was sent up north during the civil war to be O/C of the 1st northern division after cutting his teeth in West cork during the war of independence where he was o/c of the Schull battalion
