Great idea for Audrey, truly wanting to help people. have a good idea where to start, The American Red Cross. I know you are home schooled. Here in the philadelphia area we have a virtual club, this helps introduce to students the humanitarian workings of the American Red Cross. 13 years old to join the club. best thing to do is contact your local Red Cross. Find out whom Clara Barton was and what she did, and also Jane Delano.

Nursing is an admirable and much needed profession. I think Audrey would make an awesome nurse because she has so much compassion at such a young age. I was an ASN RN for 38 years until May when I completed my RN-BSN. The hospital where I worked in Florida doesn’t pay more for the BSN but when I was hired in 2019 I had capped out with pay at 15 years experience since they don’t go higher. I just resigned at $84000 a year with shift differential this past February. I’m now semi retired and only work PRN. If I was younger I’d be a traveler. The pay is better and nurses aren’t stuck in the same position likely to burn out in the same hospital. Most of the nurses I worked with are now travelers.

Very helpful information, Thank You for taking the time to gather it all up. Here in Middle TN, we are having a huge housing boom with new homes and apartments being built everywhere, the cost of these new places is going through the roof. Like you guys, we are DESPERATE for construction hands, everything from laborers up to Superintendents...everybody is looking for help. We are paying anywhere from $25 to 35 an hour, but finding folks who will show up and do their jobs is getting more and more difficult. We are finding some restaurants that are closing early or are drive thru only due to a lack of help in keeping the place open. It's just kind of weird, I've never seen it like this before. But hopefully things will get back to normal soon. Once again Thank You for working on this video, it was quite informative. (By the way, your oldest daughter would make an outstanding nurse...we can all see she has a very caring heart and truly wants everyone to be OK...:))

What an absolutely fantastic idea for showing children of all ages what role these every day occupations have in society. So many children in my experience think they will be popstars, professional footballers etc.... But in reality what are the chances?
I believe in reaching for the stars and not crushing a childs dreams but honestly if they actually saw what an electrician does, what a mechanic does, what an archaeologist does etc it might capture their hearts and give them the incentive to work to a more realistic goal in life.
I am blown away at such an easy way of displaying a range of careers. In the UK when kids get to 15/16 and they start thinking about whether to do A levels in academic subjects for post 16 education or more vocational qualifications they might have a careers talk at school etc but it's all talking. But goodness me it's so obvious that giving demonstrations children can join in with is obviously going to have more of an impact especially in their younger years. More practical displays early on would have a better impact in my opinion on a child forming an interest in a career. Like i say I'm blown away at this. Having been involved in voluntary youth work for a good half of my life and working in a private day nursery I am in touch with families and know that honestly kids have no clue about what trade occupations are about or in actual fact what uniformed services really do. Let's make these roles real to to them and exciting so we hear kids saying "I want to build houses when I grow up" or "I want to fix engines" or "I want to look after people" instead of "I'm going to be a singer!"
Thank you for taking us on your day out xx

If you dress well cold is not that big a problem. We built oil storage tanks all year. Work was shut down at minus 35. Work hard and show initiative and you will get promoted. So crazy seeing Pioneer Land and not Alaskaland. It was cool seeing a lot of things haven't changed there in the last 25+ years. We were going to go up to Alaska this summer and we noticed a big shortage in Fairbanks of rental cars there was absolutely none available. There also is a big shortage of places to buy I have a couple friends that moved back to Alaska they had a hard time finding a place to buy. Audrey would be an awesome and a real caring nurse. That is crazy minimum wage is $10 an hour. About 16 years ago I made $10 an hour it was considered good pay. I worked in a cannery in southern southeast Alaska.

I have been seeing travel positions for speech therapists (my career!) in Anchorage! So thats another way to visit and work in AK for a shorter amount of time!

Great information regarding possible employment opportunities on your area. I believe most salaries were close to what they are in my little town in Southwest Washington state. 😊

Thanks for the wonderful video and the really great info! If we are interested in moving and need a new job, where can we look to find that out? Just curious! Blessings and have a great day!

If we had the money righ now we'd be happy to visit Alaska. It's been a long time since I was there. We could use some cooler Temps, but it's August in Texas.
