@@CIPGAS you welcome man! been bingeing your videos past couple days. Yeah haha 162,421 original miles on whole drivetrain. Original wheels an everything, no rust because I live in SoCal. Recently I adjusted the valves and did the camshaft seal new dizzy with rotor and seals, spark plugs n wires timing belt etc. new exhaust manifold and replaced all gaskets, new fuel filter with coolant flush and fresh fluids. There’s a group on Facebook and some of the members have reached 300k to 400k original engine, the car is bulletproof haha.
Awesome video man! Only thing I noticed watching it was instead of using nylon straps for your engine, I would personally try to get your hands on some seat belts. They are much much stronger and you only have to use one layer, Ive pulled 6L v8 engines with just a single seat belt instead of chains. Again awesome video man!!! Doing an auto to manual conversion right now actually, on jack stands too, good times lol.

Tampa born and raised, I'm in Hernando now but ended up here looking for anything I'm missing trick-wise pulling my F21s and heads off. The 2.7T in a B6 is a tight fit and I can't access the mani to turbo bolts (need a torch for that too anyway) but hope you had luck with your build. Mines still 3y in the rebuild process
Can’t get mine out the freakin axels are in the way 😢 I tried leveling out the drivetrain with a jack on the tranny but I’m hitting the top of the tunnel😅
It’s tough with the axles in the way But if you want to leave them in you’ll have to remove the motor mounts. That should allow you to go over the axles without hitting the tunnel
Hi, what's the name of the crossover pipe directly beneath all the pulleys, I think it connects to the oil pan. Your's is painted red. I got a car from up north and the pipe is rusty I want to replace it.

Hey! Thanks so much for the video!!! I’m pulling my 02 S4 engine and trans very soon! Do you loosen the subframe like Justin does in his vid? Also he removes some of the bolts on the control arms behind the front wheels. Is that needed or no?
I don’t touch the subframe bolts because I pull my engine out too frequently and you have to get an alignment after every time you move the subframe. It definitely makes the job easier to lower it tho.
Damn man sorry to hear this. That definitely blows! the best advice I can you is to use a bolt extractor like the one in the link below. 4uattros4 thanks for the advice. Turns out one bolt was really loose on the coil, it was actually staring to pull away so it was wasn’t making a good connection on the spark plug.

Terrific videos, my only criticism would be you're flip flopped feet. I would be leery of shredding my feet by dropping things or just moving in & out of the shop.... Shoes & long jeans whenever wrenching..

I am pulling the motor to install build 2.8 heads. I did do a pull a few weeks back to replace my wastegate actuator lines due to a leak.

The heater core shouldnt be hard to replace. i have done mine with no experience on heater core replacements on my b5 in 12 hours.

what type of harness did you use to lift the engine? That blue ones.
I used a ratchet strap with the ratchet removed.

The 2.0 coil packs are better but I’d start with your MAF sensor and make sure it’s reading correctly through vcds.

Yep, need to pull the CVs though. You don't have to touch the subframe or trans aside from umbolting from engine

Ohhh haha I’ve had an engine out turbos swapped and back in, in about 6 hours. So about 2 and a half hours for the pull.
