Hey, today I am going to show you how to fix Kali Linux 2020.1 tty1 Error or GUI error in easy steps. You can switch CLI mode to GUI mode in Kali Linux 2020.1 after following this video. Just follow the steps in this video and you can fix tty1 gui error in Kali Linux.

Kali Linux Installation Prerequisites:
A minimum of 20 GB disk space for the Kali Linux install.
RAM for i386 and amd64 architectures, minimum: 1GB, recommended: 2GB or more.
CD-DVD Drive / USB boot support

Pro-tip:- use https after deb in sources.list for fast download speed...
If 's' is not used after http speed is about 13kbps and takes 4 to 5 hrs....but after editing https speed is of 3mbps and downloaded in 2 min...

If we get permission error then we have to use *sudo* otherwise command will work.

I don't have enough space when I use "sudo apt-get gnome"...it says " not enough free space in var/cache/apt/archives/." So is there a way for me to increase the space? Its loaded on a large sd card...theres plenty of room.Sticky fingers Kali via raspberry pi 3 b+. Thanks.

Did not work for Kali 2020.3. Everything performed step-by-step. Sources file is correct. After last step, it auto loads and bypasses 'init 6' but either way after reboot, same as before. very frustrating
You have to install Kali Linux 2020.3 again.

Kali GNU/Linux comes with ABSOLUTELY NO WARRANTY, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Internet is necessary for this. But if you format everything. Please try to install once again. Install latest Kali Linux 2020.2. but if you get same problem then you have to connect your Laptop with internet. I suggest use Virtual Box if you are bignner.

Hepl me bro ! after install kali linux menu bar is missing and no terminal they show only settings and help application
Bro try to restart your computer. If your computer hardware is old please install 32bit architecture in your computer.
I had exactly the same issue.
This is how I fixed it.
Remove kali linux from your virtual box. No need to delete the files. Make sure you have the iso file.
Try installing kali linux to virtual box again from the beginning.
Now make sure during the installation, you install everything. Some files may fail at first but you will be asked to try again. MAKE SURE YOU DON'T MISS ANYTHING.
Now, you will be asked which desktop monitor to use. Lightdm or gdm3.
MAKE SURE YOU SELECT gdm3 NOT Lightdm.
Try not to download any other desktop environment other than Gnome or the default one.
This is what I did and now everything is working fine.
Don't quit on it, it will work 😊👍

FYI I got the same error when I tried to copy a large file that I ran out of space. I had to restart my machine because the system crashed. I deleted the large copy file, rebooted Kali and started Kali started fine.

Did you take the backup before installing Kali Linux.. You had to gone with dual boot then you can go back to Windows if you format your hard drive while you install Kali you can't go back...
