Going without water was the really hard part, although mainly in the last three hours or so before sunset. I had to keep my mind off water and the much-too-slowly-moving clock, and the best way to do that was to curl up and sleep or rest while listening to music. He's right that the fast encourages laziness. It didn't make me feel "spiritual" in any way. Every day i would break the fast by first drinking glass after glass of water and then i'd eat too much because someone was giving me all the free food I could eat. It was just a personal endurance test.

Like: if you drive without a license even if you are a perfect driver police can put you in jail because you came to this country and you should respect their law.
@CHEANG HAN BIN Moe So, we are talking about a specific country that is practicing a specific action. I was in Saudi Arabia and know their rules, if you are non-Muslim you can eat and drink ok. If you are a Muslim then you can not eat in public. Rules. Just like if play soccer you have to obey Fifa's rules bud.

Yes that is true. Some place in my country, especially where I live, we can't eat in public, the stalls and restaurant are closed, We have to respect those who fast. The purpose of fasting should be to refrain from temptation, but all temptations were deliberately eliminated, even in some areas, stalls that open were forcibly closed.

What was " selective" fasting for a few days in other religions of the time ( with many exemptions like drinking water) with possible health benefits, Islam scaled it up into an absurdly dogmatic , rigid fasting marathon for 30 days with no regard to health and well being of people.
If in those religions people fasted for those consecutive days but did not break the fast at dusk then it makes sense why water was allowed. People need water every day to survive.
I remember two incidents where my muslim friends passed out while they were fasting during Ramadan with fatigue and dehydration. This is pure stupidity.
As a Christian this is so interesting to me and I know you're not lying. From a health standpoint, ramadan "fasting" is complete and utter nonsense. Like you mentioned: Not being allowed to drink anything during the day time, especially in *hot* countries, is *very* unhealthy, it is even dangerous. Especially for people who work. Great points made, as ever. I'm a convinced intermittent faster, put my Diabetes 2 into remission with it, but it's very important to drink plenty of water throughout a fast if it is to be effective and successful. Most of the Intermittent Fasting support groups will ban anyone who advocates dry fasting because there are real health risks connected with it. Muslims will abstain from food and drink for around 18 hours during Ramadan and so forth, but autophagy, the body's natural repair on the cellular level as a result of fasting, starts to kick in at around 20 hours. Having done it regularly for many years now I can easily fast for two periods of 36 hours each week, which it wouldn't be possible to do safely without water. So yes, fasting is great and healthy. Lots of good support for sensible intermittent fasting now, but dry fasting definitely a bad idea, and you'll be blocked from most IF groups on social media if you try to plug it.

I don't see the problem, bing eating at night can hardly be called a fast. Think of those who work nights shifts and eat during night hours, are they doing Ramadan 365 days a year?
in summer there is only few hours of night and rest is daytime at very northern latitude.
Good content. Very sensible analysis
Where is your turban?
I have worked in schools with kids as young as 10 fasting. Students fasting through exams. Pregnant women, people taking meds.
I have also seen people taking the whole month off so they can sleep all day and stay awake at night.
Then there’s the grumpy bs that causes Muslims to spend their time bitching and judging others - saying really negative things, thinking horrific thoughts and thinking their fast is clean.
Then the glutinous feasts in a time when the whole month is supposed to be a time thinking of those more needy.
Women spending the whole day cooking up a treat for everyone.
It’s fucking embarrassing!
Glad I’m out of it!
Lol you clearly don't know anything about Ramadan. Typical ex Muslims whinging with their pathetic excuses.
Glad you're free, good luck 🕊
Omg those pregnant women and people on meds should be more careful and not fast. Like if Allah does exist He woudn’t want His creation to be in pain right?
@@ysaviationtrains2313 typical you of making that comment when you know nothing of the Muslim community around the world.
An asylum center in Germany went up complete flames, all the refugees had to be evacuated. Why you may ask? Disagreements and fights broke out because they couldn’t agree when to open the fast doing Ramadan - Sh*t was set on fire.
@@ic.xc. Is that your justification? I have been fasting since I was going to Primary school. I continued the day normally. Even up to now I don't have any problems, I only just feel slight thirst and hunger. Abdullah Sameer needs to toughen up and get a grip on life instead of being feeble with his excuses.
Good job brother.
What many Muslims need to realize is that having a wish to do it is the most important part of any religious act, be it prayer or fasting. When someone does not wish to do it, than it's useless even from religious point of view
true that! Niyyah = Intention is the only thing that's important!
Yeah.. no body forcing any body in Islam..
My muslim husband nearly passed away during ramafan years ago ,since then on we are free from this disaster ,what a relief !
Why passed away. He can break his fast. Why risking your life if you can't fast? Take it easy sis
The only reson is if he was old or sick and if he fasted then he can’t read the Quran that says If your sick or old it ok not to fast
😂😂😂 How many rakaat in wudhu?
Islam is like a TV show where to win the prize you have to earn points. And the prize is...!
Very rudimentary.
The prize is something that was yours' to begin with but was forcibly taken away from you 🤣
Speak for yourself, I don't like ANY kind of fasting that involves religious reasons.
I don't see the point in starving myself or kids just so i can become humbler and closer to God sounds like a load of bs to me.
have you tried it?
You dont starve them it's just a few hours and it isnt even that hard some times I do it not meaning to in a normal day when I'm just too lazy to get food now or focusing on something like an exam and kids dont have to do it
Fasting is good for you. it’s scientifically proven
@@zakkaid7709 Intermittent fasting is. Dry fasting as in Ramadan isn't.
That's true.. Ramadhan Fasting is just shifting eating & sleeping time: from eating in day to night, from sleeping in night to day. On top of that more food are wasted! And more weight gained! 🤣

For someone who have fly to the space , should be know that earth is sphere and day night time is different...
Since you said you are a truthseeker. Allah charges no soul except to its capacity. He does not have to fast bro. Because fasting is only when you are at your residence. If you travel you do have to fast. If you are sick then no fasting. Easy and simple.

I sometimes wonder do Muslims actually read the Quran''s (there's not one perserved Quran as Muslims are led to believe) ? Do they actually read the Hadiths ? And actually acknowledge what's written in them ? I've looked into these books out of curiosity, interest, history and relgion,. I can honestly say I can't see any evidence of a higher intelligence in these books...In fact it's quite the opposite!
When i was a muslim, i did read all of those, but still always found a way to "explain" it, because i had faith that it's the truth by default.
Also most Muslims worldwide don’t speak or understand Arabic. Most Muslims that I ever knew (mostly of Turkish decent) knew only how to read out loud without understanding it. You could have let them read Abu Nuwas‘ poems and they’d still be like: wow subhanallah, Mashallah, so magical, it must be from God lol
I talk regularly with Muslims and am surprised at how little some of them know about their religion.
@@natalikronwald6177 not true these are few countries most countries speak arabic well enough to understand most of the Quran. Most of it because some of it has hard vocabulary and sentence structure even for more fluent people

Great video =). I like Ramadan only for the atajef dessert.
Ramadan gives you false hope of experiencing anything spiritual be it fasting, taraweeh or tahajud. You can keep deluding yourself that theres something but after finally realizing the truth, i'm glad i can move on and focus on reality and never look back at this irrationality.

True story here I used to get so angry how I had to fast so one night I was eating wendys alone in their parking lot near midnight and just thinking about Ramadan got me in so much rage I opened my car door got out my car and threw my cheeseburger on the ground as hard as I possibly could my arm literally was in pain after that cus I over extended it.

I went to Morocco during Ramadan and I am not doing that ever again!! People were obviously on edge and we got harassed and felt unsafe in one instance. Went back a few years later (not in Ramadan) and got none of that, people were A LOT more relaxed and we were too ☺️
Sounds like one big nightmare to be honest. It was hard enough giving up chocolate for lent with Christianity.
Especially when you are a student doing his or her exams .
Less frustration would be among the Muslims during Ramadan if they knew that Ramadan is on September/October (as its name suggests) because ignorants stopped adding the Leap Month every 3 years of the lunar Calendar. Muhammad didn’t fast all year around. It was in the Ramda (first rains on hot ground: end of summer) . What a shame when the months have specific season-related names ! :)
Wth?
The main problem is just the water. Jews, Christians and Hindus fast in some way or another but they're allowed to have water. We aren't meant to go many hours without water, being hungry for a month a year is probably good for most people anyway
Yeah that's part of it
Fasting make you lazy !!!
i work in a construction company in gulf.....people assume the productivity would decrease in the month of ramadan but it is not....even working 6hrs instead of 8 ....thr productivity doenst go down....second thing 2nd to 3rd person is suffered from over weight....what if this ramadan forcing to keep fasting and helping them to reduce some weight and motivate them to keep it in tone? negative people will find negativity anywhere
It's stupid to deny water!
Can Muslim get on social media during ramadan my frind went dark and I am wondering if I should check on her?
Yes they can use social media tf lmao
I asked ilyas sharafuddin that why their was a curtain when prophet went to 7thsky to met Allah. He asked because if Allah showed himself to momo. Then people would ask momo how our Allah looks and they would create his idols.

Ramadan is good for fnb business. It's a food festival. some even take a whole month off of work to sell food and they make a fortune. While fasting should make people eat less, yet we see people buy more food and create a huge market for foodstuffs during ramadan
My grandmother fasted while she was pregnant with my mother.
I don't like ramadan and my family tries to force me to pray and fast
In my village they make loud noise go around the village to wake up all people to do "sahur" at 03.00 in the morning. I could not sleep well during Ramadan in my village.
Intermittent fasting I like it verymuch, I do OMAD
@Jamal Ramadan Indonesia
😒 I still have to fast to cover up my ass... 😂 It is not as easy for some people just to let the world know, you will take very huge loss... Peace! ✌
Can you atleast drink some water on the downlow?
You can break your fast bro, no one is holding you. It's true that it will be hard to eat in front of your muslim friends but you can publicize that.
I suggest people rethink Ramadan for health reasons, it used to feel like economy stalls as so many people are tired/sleeping the full day then partying over iftar, so one full month slowdown... is the prayer intensifying, no its the same 5 times a day...
No, lazy people are lazy and will use Ramadan as an excuse. I work normally and honestly get tired around 6pm.
Hi Laura
Some Muslims I've met have compared Ramadan fasting to intermittent fasting. But you're right, it's not the same.
Even with fasting and feasting, its extremely hard compared to non fasting.
It's not partying not not its praying all night
As usual great video 👍👍👍👍
Spending quality time with your family is an ibadah...working to provide for yourself or for others is an ibadah... Eating healthy, resting is an ibadah too... It doesn't say that you should focus more on certain parts of ibadah... But rather doing even a little of it could reward you a thousand times than doing it in other months... Its a blessing... Allah wants us to go to jannah but it's us that aren't willing to do even the bare minimum to achieve that...and i have siblings that can't fast because of their conditions... Allah doesn't burden a soul with more than it can bear... So those ppl in those conditions that won't allow them to fast will not be forced to fast... There will always be ppl that will mock them for not fasting but its those ppl that fail to follow Islam, them taunting ppl for not fasting has nothing to do with Islam... But rather the character and thoughts of those ppl themselves
Islam is primary known for is constant technical difficulties that people facing trying to impose on themselves it's rulings. It seems that the most of the time in the life of a muslim is spent on solving puzzles basically. 😂
