Repair COMAND APS NTG 2.5 DVD Changer

- Because for inexplicable reasons several CD's got into one(!) compartment of the DVD changer, the function was no longer given. So it was necessary to open the device to remove the CD's and check the changer for possible damage.
I printed some spare parts with a resin 3D printer. Prints with FDM PLA failed.
I had a different failure: a white plastic slider in the actuation of the laser arm was broken. A shop named "opuradio" offers a spare part named "Alpine 6 DVD changer mech gear - DZ63G16B", which fitted perfectly.
I splitted the unit in halfs as you show it in the video. But its a bit tricky to properly put the 2 parts back together.
I stowed the laser arm in the retracted position, then you have to make sure 2 things:
1) there is a small pin at the pivoting point at the laser arm which goes into a spacial hole inside a metal slider in the other housing half. The slider has to be held in a certain position in order that the pin hits the hole.
2) there is a gear at one corner which fits a toothed bar in the other housing half. Both parts have to be at the same end of their movement range.

I Don"t think so. I printed the little clamps in 3D. unfortunately the FDM Print was Not precise enough so i printed With stl Resin again. but be careful: it is very brittle.
With my knowledge today i would try to Print it With FDM in ABS in 0,08mm Layers.

Hello, thank you very much for your video. I have exactly the same problem. 1 of the 3 small arms that hold the first metal plate to the rotating shaft has broken. I haven't been able to get replacement parts. Could you sell a washer? Thank you so much

I don't own the Car anymore but i can try to Help you. The spring and the lever belong to the inner disc Management as shown in the Video. I can try to Upload the Photos in full Resolution. Maybe it will help you to understand it better. Or IS there a way to contact you directly?
Each of the compartments has a lever and a return spring which is attached to the spindle. The spring can jump out and cause a long search because it is very very small. This spring is inserted into the lever and into the sheet metal part. It makes the lever snap back. Please have a look at 13:56!
Hi great video. I have moisture get into my w211 Harman kardon headunit screen. How can I replace just the screen? Or would I need to replace the whole unit?
I am afraid you won't get a new Display alone. Try to get a Used comand instead.

I assembled and disassembled several times before figuring out where the part goes. You have to drag the plate to get the right location according to the photo.

Mein 6 fach cd laufwerk nimmt keine cds mehr an und brummt nach motorstart ein paar minuten vor sich hin. Die reparaturkosten ist es mir nicht wert, aber das brummen nervt. Würde es gerne stilllegen. Läuft das comand auch mit ausgebautem cd laufwerk?
Ja, sollte gehen.
Ich hab die 2 Flachbandkabel abgesteckt und das Comand wieder eingebaut. Der Wechsler ist jetzt stromlos und brummt auch nicht mehr. Allerdings funktioniert das Navi dann nicht mehr, ebenso die Linguatronic und das Audio vom Fond-Entertainment.
Habe den mechanischen Defekt im Wechsler dann repariert und wieder angesteckt, jetzt geht alles wieder.

Hey vicos, habe die CDs jetzt raus, leider geht immer noch nichts. Ich denke ich habe die letzte Position nicht gemerkt. Aber such unmöglich, da in einem slot 2 CDs verklemmt waren. Was kann ich noch tun? Könntest du es reparieren?
Ich habe auch immer wieder und wieder probiert. Die Etagen am besten alle durch Drehen an der Spindel nach unten bewegen und dann so einbauen. Da ist ein Endschalter drin
Cant get the last 3 CDs out
You can try to Turn the Drive screw to lift or lower each CD compartment. The movement is non-linear. but you have to remember the Last Position of each component before reassambling the whole unit
do yo have pictures of how the mecanics needs to be befor reassembly, i have no idea where needs parts be according to eachother now mecanics are out of sync, how did you manage reasembly, video did not show this?

@@aeroxpolini Did you solve your problem ? I have similar situation, but only with 1 disc.
System shows me 1 disc in (before I had to CD get out by reassambling), but all CD's slots are empty
