Thank you to everyone who has commented letting me know that Energylandia is currently in the process of finishing the theming for Aqualantis and Abyssus! This is AWESOME to hear, I look forward to seeing if the new additions make this ride feel like a more complete experience, and fix some of the big criticisms I had about the rides presentation.
it only took them a year but at least they’re finishing it and i hope that is what bgw is doing with pantheon
yes
You also have fishing spammers in your youtube comment section. I think you should warn your viewers for them
I like your reviews
Judging by the terrain of the coaster it looks like they are pools that should have been filled up with water, hence the theming
any clue if it still will have this?
@@thomaswijgerse723 maybe in summer idk. There was fog in the animation too
@@thomaswijgerse723 right now, during winter season, aqualantis theming is being completed
Was thinking this. Water would be incredible. It would give moments similar to Montu at BG but w/ water!
it will
I feel 'unfinished' should be the slogan of the park. So much potential!
energyland
They def have a mentality of "if people keep coming, then we're doing it right and we don't need to improve anything"
I mean at the rate of their expansion they've always planned to fill it in as they go, just like the theming of this area
They are adding theming to this area this year!
Been waiting for this one for a while, along with Kondaa
If you look at rides like Karnan, you'll see that they also opened with clearly unfinished theming that was added in as the years went on. The main tower, for instance, used to be barren when it opened but in later seasons they added the brick facade and it looks much better.
They are finishing the themmeng in this aera right now. There will be water tunnels and misters during the layout
That’s great to hear!!
I like your type of reviews❤
I was looking forward to hearing your take on this ride. Like you I'm really excited to one day give this a go based on the looks. But I've also heard from several people the ride experience is slightly underwhelming. Still, I like long fun layouts so it could still be my kinda thing.
If the comments are true that Energylandia is properly finishing off the theming, adding loads of water etc, then that's really great news!
I reached a similar conclusion in my review. It's a solid, good ride, but it just lacks that "wow" factor, and when it's going to be compared with Hyperion and Zadra, it just can't compete. At another park it could easily be a headline attraction, but not at energylandia.
If they really finish the theming with water and tunnels like @puwcyk mentioned, this should be a really great combination of not too extreme thrill factor with great water based theming. Maybe it is exactly what they wanted to be attractive also for people not too fond of extreme rides.
Honestly, you need to come to Australia. We have a ton of underrated rides (the DC Rivals is widely considered the third best hypercoaster in the word by the few that have ridden it (after Steel Vengeance and Iron Gwazi of course), the Superman Escape ride is excellently themed (I know Taylor will be amazed at the theming of this ride) and the Steel Taipan is a really fun multi launch packed with inversions and a really good barrel roll. By the way, there is a roller coaster at Luna Park Sydney (the Big Dipper) with Sydney Harbour views so, if you want those amazing views this is the place to check out. I know this is unrelated but I think you will love the coasters (and Theme Parks!) of Australia.
It is unfinished. The coaster should have a large water basin and half of the theming is not implemented. Even the coaster wad originally advertised as having a splashdown or fake splashdown as well. So yeah, there is a lot to be desired.
Abyssus is currently closed because they are finishing the theming this winter season
I like Abyssus really much
Ride To Happiness review please!
Yes, please
4:20 sustained airtime can also shorten the lifespan of coaster parts like the bogie. Even so, I was super hyped for this coaster and I really expected Vekoma to knock it out of the park with this one, but it's just "meh." Removing that trim could change so much, but I can't say for certain.
This ride is NOT for enthusiasts it's for families. And if they would remove these trims it would be too Intense and fast
@@extrakubik4123 Bro it's already super intense, just exclusively on the positive side of things. The positive forces in the batwing are the things causing greyouts. Adding more airtime wouldn't really turn anyone away.
@@MrPatrickbuit It is Intense enough but most of riders are kids and parents when I was there and I think that it would be a little bit too much intense, but I think it haves enough airtime and intensity. IT'S JUST PERFECT FAMILY THRILL RIDE AND I LOVE IT
I think they will finish up the theming, which will fix a lot on the ride. It was probably intended to be not so forceful, so that you could actually enjoy the theming and scenery around. I will probably be significantly better once they actually finish it.
This ride looks like Vekoma's answer to Mack's Blue Fire at Europa Park
Expectations are a weird thing. My order of the 'big 3' rides here ended up being Hyperion > Abyssus > Zadra, mainly because I expected Zadra to give me slightly more than it did, and I had really moderate expectations of Abyssus so I was so pleasantly surprised by the airtime and forces it delivered. A shame about the unfinished theming but the layout was great to me. All 3 are fantastic rides though!
I mean u don’t have to be to disappointed they have multiple of everything besides RMCs eventually they’ll get a third vakoma launched coaster
Had a night ride on this for their halloween event, going through the trenches in the dark gave it that punch that it normally doesn't give
Agree! I felt the same when we did it on halloween night.
I also did it on Halloween night but Hyperion at night is something else
i really liked Abyssus. It’s not quite like Velocicoaster (to name the best 2-launcher there is) it lacks theming and maybe could have some extra elements, but it is a ton of fun. On top of that, Energylandia is a lot cheaper than the big American parks, and when I went there (beginning of September 2023) the line were 10-15 mins long max. If I had to choose between waiting 1-2 hours to ride Velocicoaster and 10 mins to ride Abyssus, I would take Abyssus every time.
I've also done this ride after lech coaster, and yes lech is better but still abyssus didn't dissapoint. It had a long ride, good forces, good ejector airtime, fun inversions.. just bcs it isn't lech means it is bad lol
I think Abyssus is all about setting expectation. I went in reading some average to good reviews and came off feeling that it exceeded my expectations. It's not going to blow your mind like Zadra or Hyperion, but it's still a great ride.
Because it's a family thrill not a thing that wants to kill you
I'm pretty sure trims on the tophat are to allow a stronger launch to prevent rollbacks like on Kingda Ka. Of course enthusiasts will disagree on when the trims are needed, but that was probably the reason used.
No, I don't think so. I don't see how rollbacks make a coaster significantly worse, also not from a park's perspective. I think they wanted the coaster to be more marketable by having a higher top speed without having to invest in bigger elements that would have been needed to follow if there weren't trim brakes
Visited this week and the themeing parks you noticed are still the same. I have to say tho i personally found this a much more enjoyable ride than Lech coaster.
I considered it as rather a family thrill ride, not a super solid ride like Hyperion or Zadra. It's a great warm up though.
The ride is btw closed for the winter season to get additional theming
It also seems like they are filling a large part of the area with water
That’s great to hear!!
I think you missed to Talk about how smooth the Ride is. It was as smooth as a RMC the year i Rode it
I’m keen to see you visit Australia to try out our parks. SeaWorld on the Gold Coast just opened Leviathan, a woodie with Gravity Group designed layout, which seemed rather rough for a brand new ride. Another new one is Steel Taipan at Dreamworld by Mack Rides which also seemed rather shuddery for a new ride, as does DC Rivals at MovieWorld.
I’m curious to hear whether I had unrealistic expectations for smoothness or whether in fact there was a bit of slap-dashery in their construction.
I’ve been on blue fire, predator and steel taipan (all same layout) and they all seemed about the same to me in smoothness. DC rivals was smooth when I first rode it but my last ride in feb wasnt very good.
@@tomwilsonn I haven't ridden Rivals since the start of 2021, is it drastically different or just slightly noticeable?
@@benjidillon8326 it was the shakiest Mack I’ve ever been on. Maybe just on an old set of wheels? Who knows
@@tomwilsonn Oh God 😟
@@benjidillon8326 it’s still really good lol
Idk why, but I think if it had nearly the exact layout but was built by intamin it would be a top 50 coaster.
I don't think so. Vekoma lately has built some great and also thrilling coasters!
This coaster is cool looking and also I am the weard coaster enthusiast because I like the gp and most enthusiasts hate the gp
It is true that the ride may be a little underwhelming for some, and the trims do detract from the experience, but the real advantage to me is that you can carry even a six year old on board of this ride, which is quite impressive at least for European standards.
Kinda makes sense to not want something so crazy with the other stuff they already had in the park.
I really, really rated Abyssus. To be honest, I even liked it a hair more than Hyperion, which I found a disappointing hypercoaster. Abyssus, meanwhile, exceeded my expectations. The hill between loop and batwing took my breath away in a way that no single moment on Hyperion could muster. I also like it more than Lech Coaster, which is simply Too Intense For Me. Abyssus is pure fun, and I kind of like how the Big Moments are sandwiched in between these playful fiddly bits.
Defiantly to bad its not as intense as Lech Coaster but Hyperion and Zadra already are insane so maybe they wanted to go with a more tame approach.
When will you review the ride to happiness?
It’s on the to do list! Hopefully this month
So, we have two Roman/Greek multilaunch coasters that just missed entirely on the theming…
Coincidence?
Energylandia is finishing the theming in aqualantis area right now
That’s great to hear!!
Was expecting a 5 or a 6 so a 7.5 is a very good score.
Think about it this way; objectively its a good ride, there's nothing inherently wrong with it. It's still a very well made attraction.
Couldn't it just have trims at the bottom of the drop instead of on the top hat if it was because the positive Gs on the pull out are to strong.
there's supposed to be water but they turned it off, idk why
Yeah, all those brown areas with the small walls around them are supposed to have water I suppose. I remember reading / heraing about it that it opened quite unfinished
Winter maybe…….
Do you count Guardians of the Galaxy: Comic Rewind as a new generation Vekoma?
It’s definitely not an old Gen Vekoma
it is a new-gen vekoma
heck its newer then this ride
Absolutely!
Personally, I would compare it to Fønix.
It’s pure fun, but not very intense.
Edit: Abyssus vs Helix?
The fact that they built pools all around the coaster's layout and then never filled them just feels dumb.
I can see why it may need more theming, the ride is lacking in intensity and very long, so theming can make up for it for some people.
AbuysSUS
This ride is so underwhelming but I don’t know why it has everything, but it feels like nothing. This killed my hype for new vekomas
I don't know why but I feel like this park is not gonna last that long. Not like this. I mean seriously, what is their motivation, their "idea" that makes this park unique and special (except for building literally everything randomly that they somehow got the space for)? This is a park without character and without a real "soul", which is really uncommon for an European park. They just swallow in all possible subventions of the EU without thinking sustainably in long term.
People call it the Cedar Point of Europe despite it having ELEVEN family coasters.
@@triple7marc yeah, that fits it pretty well.
@@kefo025 But Cedar Point only has two family coasters lol. It actually has a great coaster lineup.
@@triple7marc true! But let's hope the best for TTD😅
The theming in this park is so Bad 😂
