And when they DID venture inside, both those men were blocking close to 10 shots a game (8.2 for Russell & 8.8 for wilt, not from NBA official stats b/c they didn't track those numbers till '73 I believe...but statistician Harvey Pollack watched film & tracked blocks for over 100 games each, later in their careers). Rodman was a terror defensively, but only to his own man for the most part. Not a great shotblocker, not a guy who will stop you from trying to score inside. I think they were so good they didn't have to speak to eachother, but they had to talk to the others to make sure they were on the same page

and they had really good conversations on the court :)
They never forgave Dennis for those days with the Pistons and they didn't respect his off the court lifestyle. But they knew how absolutely valuable he was to the team. He was like a house appliance; a vacuum cleaner that you never spoke to when you weren't using it.
I can totally see him getting on with Longley, Kerr, & the other "regular" team-mates. They'd have no god complex, like MJ & Pip.
Rodman was always a down-to-earth dude 👌
