And yeah, this was Ahsoka's first appearence, so that's why she doesn't appear in the Prequels.

There's a chronological order of clone wars episodes you should be able to find if you look it up. It's slightly confusing at first but it's better viewed in that order.
Rex was unaffected by the mind trick, and used it as a chance to tip Anakin off that something happened.
Ventress: "Contact Skywalker now."
Rex: "I will contact Skywalker now - Anakin, where are you?"
Hope you see the show its a wild ride. I always love the scene where Ahsoka and Anakin talk. Ahsoka confiding why she’s so eager to prove herself as a newly minted padawan hence her recklessness and Anakin giving her his first piece of wisdom ‘Nothing happens by accident’. Obi-Wan told him to teach her everything he taught Anakin but Anakin’s first real thing Anakin teaches her is something he learned not from Obi-Wan but from Qui-Gon that is telling of how Anakin emulates his role as mentor.
Trivia: For the German dub they used most of the same voice actors as for the prequel movies. As example: Anakin, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Padmé, Clones, Yoda, Windu and Dooku sound the same for the last 22 years (including series like Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Book of Boba).
Soo there are a couple of episodes in "the clone wars" series that canonically happen before the movie. I believe Ventress was introduced in the star wars comics first but in those episodes she is canonically has her first appearance in the animation (not taking the old clone wars in consideration)

The 2003 "Clone Wars" mini series by Samurai Jack/Dexter's Lab/Sym-bionic Titan creator Genndy Tartakovsky (Which I love. Part 1 was made up of 5 minute episodes and is 90% action but then Part 2 gets longer episodes and thus dives a little more into the story.) It includes an introduction for Ventress.
If you watch the full "The Clone Wars" series people tend to recommend you watch it in chronological order rather than air order. There's a list online giving the chronological order. The series has some ups and downs but it adds so much to Anakin and the tragedy of his fall.
You don't know this, but you've just met your new favorite Star Wars character. Ahsoka Tano.
As someone who is not a fan of the prequels, this show makes them worth watching.

@@ohkaty 1 fact pro tip Katy, that IS the canon prequel to this show that shows Ventress meet Anakin and how he gets long hair and how Obiwan gets short hair and how Grevious is trained by Dooku and how he talks the way he does talk and how Dooku becomes more important to the Clone War!

17:45 I think Asajj Ventress appeared in the 2003 2D animated Clone Wars for the 1st time (which is WAY shorter than the 2008 Clone Wars 3D animated show btw). I can recommend watching that one as well and it's not that long.

If you save return of the jedi until after the clone wars series it's really cool because then you know more going into it and it makes things easier to understand. Especially Darth Vader. It makes the movie very moving compared to seeing it without clone wars.
No Hayden doesn't voice him in this Matt Lanter does (I actually prefer Matt Lanters voice, it's a bit deeper and more masculine and his Voice Acting is quite good) American VA James Arnold Taylor voices Obi Wan.
George wanted Anakin to have a padawan in the prequels but there just wasn’t enough time within the movies, I mean there’s already hours of deleted scenes from the prequels. So then, George Lucas had Dave Filoni create Ahsoka for Clone Wars.
Also I actually think it’s a benefit that Ahsoka was not in the movies, she most likely would’ve ended up being something completely different. And I wouldn’t change anything about her character or story.

Ps. Some of the "backstory" regarding Anakin vs Ventress, you could see on the "Clone Wars", the old cartoon shorts that CN (i think it was Cartoon Network) had on tv. There are several episodes and they are all pretty short, i dont recall exactly cus i haven't seen them in like 20 years lol, but they were roughly 10 min long shorts, maybe less. They would air in between shows iirc.
Edit: ok apparently there were 3 seasons, first 2, episodes were 3 min each, last season 12 min each.

There's been supplementary material such as half of TOTJ, and episodes of Forces Of Destiny. The timeline is kinda all over the place but worth the effort of a chronological order (it makes certain movies DEVESTATING)

Anakin grew up hearing stories of the Jedi as heroes rather than monk-like figures, so the war gives him the chance to live the dream.

Don't watch Acolyte, it's just Jedi bashing. Keep to George Lucas vision from Eps1-6, the 2 versions of Clone Wars, The Force Unleashed first game; and the modified scripts of his unreleased live-action tv serires 'Underworld': that became Solo, Andor and Rogue One. That's complex and long enough for a lifetime. If after all that you still need closure. Watch seasons 1 & 2 of the Mandalorian, that's a good epilogue for the entire Saga.
Oh, Katy (Sorry could not resist), this series has perhaps the saddest moment ever. It's in the last season, and you will require tissues.
