Wow, my wife and I live in San Francisco, and we were going to Malaysia for our honeymoon at the end of April 2023 based on your videos. Ironically, we changed our minds and went to Cape Town. We enjoyed the waterfront area and also the Pick N Pay was our favorite place to get all the necessities we needed. What a surprise that you chose this destination. Keep enjoying your travels and providing so much joy to your audience.
Having lived in South Africa's northern neighbour Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) many years ago I still miss Kudu biltong and genuine Boerewors cooked over the barbecue with a few pints of Lion lager.
Hi Maro and Maxi, really enjoyed this video. It’s very interesting to see what foods are in supermarkets in other countries. And yes, the Tim Tams are Australian. The double coated chocolate ones are the best 😀. The range of Biltong was amazing and the delicious looking bakery items made my mouth water. I could happily spend an entire day there!
Hi there Danielle! Glad to hear that you enjoyed it! It was wonderful to see all the good old "home" foods again! Visiting supermarkets when abroad is one of our favourite things to do, seeing the products and selections a country has to offer is both interesting and fun! Tim Tams are delicious indeed, but where not available when I (Maxi) lived there. The selection of available food types and flavors has definitely increased. We can highly recommend a visit to Cape Town! Enjoy your weekend :-D
Wow- I’m impressed with Pick N Pay Supermarket! For some reason I thought this was a convenient shop but from your content, this is a well stocked organised shelf supermarket! Thank you for posting this video because this helps other visitors such as myself while on holiday. Cheers!
Wonderful supermarket tour! Good to see a huge selection of items, especially biscuits like Tim tams and all. I think more of such videos in the future would be a good idea. Enjoyed watching the video, have a good rest of your day.
Very much enjoyed this as when we go away we always visit a big local supermarket to take a look at the goodies. Nostalgia must have set in maxi as you looked like a kid in a sweet shop 😂 good to see different foods , have a great week
A Lot of nostalgia!! Love exploring local supermarkets when abroad but it is even more fun visiting your old local supermarket after 30 years and seeing all the familiar products one loved (still love) so much! We highly recommend that you and Mags ad Cape Town to your list of destinations! Have a good week both of you (we had a public holiday yesterday).
We are SA expats been in UK 15 years and miss home so much We watched your video about 5 times shouting what items to put in the basket!!! Cannot get gem squashes here but without saying details... let me know if you would like some seeds and I will post you some All best travel safe!!
Hi Excuse me but I would love you guys to fly domestically around Thailand because it’s lacking trip reports here hope you guys have a good travel experience.
Looks like Maxi visited all the important locations here in SA. First the Spur and then Pick and Pay. And of course the must visit to every south africans favourite aunty... Mrs Balls.😂😂😂
so nice to see how excited you are about Pick n Pay really a great shop The box wine is great Namaqua extra light best to buy light dry and crisp Almost got teary eyed to think how privileged we are with the variety we have Next time try Checkers and Woolworths and Food Lovers we have so much choice these days Enjoy your sunday❤from a icy cold windy Cape SA
What a pleasure to see so many old and familiar products and also so many new! When I moved "Romany Creams" were chocolate flavor only, now there are all sorts of flavors! We did visit Woolworths in the Waterfront which also had a good food store but did not see a Checkers anywhere. When I (Maxi) lived in Durban (many years ago) Checkers was the place where we bought freshly cooked Samosas (they had a lady in the shop frying them fresh) - Yummy! We will have to try some more wines next time! Keep warm down there and have a lovely weekend :-D
