      I love Texas, but I enjoy not being there in the summer. When we lived in a house I treated summer like northerners treat winter, stay inside. The positive about Texas is 9 months of nice outdoor weather.

    Use large command strips OR the 3M Dual Lock instead of the screws. Just use several strips if you go with the command strips. Should hold it fine without putting holes in your wall. We have the Peplink Max BR1 Pro 5G router and it's been mounted with the Dual Lock strips for two years without issue. Just make sure you clean and prep the surfaces properly before you mount the router.

      You know... I forgot about that. I have a small PC mounted to the wall behind the TV. And i still have the high strength velcro strips that I used to make that happen. I'm totally going to give that a try. Thank you Matt. I'll try to remember to give you a shout out when I do that and film it.

    This is what I have done. The router you have I would consider as a modem like my T-mobile. In the past I have used DSL, Cable and done the same thing Get your own router for your network and plug the one that has all of the antennas into the WAN port of your new router. Be sure to get the right router. When you have 5 devices or more you need a business router not a home. I found out years ago when I had major problems with my Netgear router, they told me that all home routers are limited to 4 wired or wireless devices.

      @rvfamilylife too bad you can't find a very light wired square plant holder and just hang up in front of a window, like you would a fern. Lol.
      I'm tempted to buy the dollar tree wire cylindrical things, to cut and form to my windows, so I can pop out the screens from my car window, so there's not double the material for a mesh screen.
      Like, pantyhose will work even. I just have to see if I can find a large size enough pantyhose to stretch out to my car window. But I might just buy the covers that go over the whole door window, but I like to be discreet, if at all possible.
      Also, is this "cheaper" than Starlink? I really don't want to go that route, if I don't have to go that route. Love the insight. ✨️✌️✨️🖖✨️

Gotta use the tmobile thing for something. And it made me laugh that you said you cracked yourself up. I do that once in a while with myself lol. That campground you're in looks like it's somewhat empty. I like easy everything. Not just internet lol. Yeah totally not into gaming. Wouldn't need anything for that. But we stream tv. @@rvfamilylife I am in the process of testing my 2nd router. The 1st stopped working completely after 4 weeks. The replacement is slower than my alternate service and I am working with tech support to try to solve these issues. So far, results have not been encouraging. It does not select the best of 3 providers as advertised but rather requires their tech service to make the selection changes. Will advise as I continue to monitor. Wifi is not as robust as I would like.

    • @stanburris4900
      @stanburris4900 9 місяців тому

      I have now been advised by tech services that the router does not automatically select the best carrier but that the change must be made by their support staff. This eliminates one of the advantages touted for the system and requires both user and tech support intervention when connection issues arise. Download and upload speeds remain slower than my other system and I have experienced total loss of signal on at least 2 occasions. Manual switching by tech support shows, so far, ATT to be the best selection. I took the router to remote locations within line of sight of ATT and TMobile towers while it was still using a Verizon selection and received unimpressive results. Monitoring continues.

    • @stanburris4900
      @stanburris4900 9 місяців тому

      I continue to test and monitor speed results with disappointing results. Download speeds are slow with averages less than 10 MBPS, Usually in the 6-7 MBPS range. Upload speeds often do not reach 1 MBPS, often in the .5-.7 range. Uploading videos would be problematical at best. Will probably be returning router and cancelling service.

    No specs on that router on their website, other than it's 5g. Slow internal transfers could be a number of things. At that price point, my gut says it's wifi and or bridge bandwidth is sub par. You need the specs to be sure. For example with Gb wired switches, the cheap ones at big box stores may have 8 x Gb ports, but the internal bus they're on is only 1Gb. Find out what you have, then go from there. In other words, figure out the choke point before throwing money at your network.
