I have the garmin a1i pro. To get an accurate yardage reading should you Range your target at full draw or Will it show an accurate reading if you range your target before you draw the bow back?
@@extremeoutfitters That's what I thought. I actually was standing in my yard at 50 yards away and turned the sight on and ranged the target not a full draw and it was only reading 15 yards at 50 yards. I thought that can't be so I drew the bow back and then hit the trigger to range it. It showed 50 yards from 50 yards. That's more like it. And then I tried ranging it again from 50 yards not at full draw like I did before I drew the bow back, but this time it showed an accurate reading of 50 yards. So I'm thinking if the sight is turned off for multiple days, you probably have to draw the bow back and range it to activate the range finder first so It can give you accurate readings whether you draw your bow back or not.
Sent mine back! No where near or easy to set up and or worth the money! And I like most Garmin products. I have several! But they seem to be missing the mark lately!
Yes yes you do. Lol .ive got the old a1. I wish it had the micro adjustments but its the first version. Im new to archery and im already banging out bullzeyes. With tight groups. I bought it because it has an unobstructed veiw. Its clear untill you range the target or animal it sets the pin and your ready. Super simple takes all range guess work out.
I hope Garmin would make an adapter to mount the old xero a1 to a picatinny mount on my ventum 30.

They are designed so you can range them at full draw and get an accurate reading right before you release your arrow.
