And ya, I think Reiner is conflicted, like how could I become attached to these idiots, he lost himself and his goal, because of his love for his comrades. And he has to remind himself how insignificant they are because they are their enemies and he needs to in-humanize them to hype himself up to destroy them and follow his mission
