And let's not forget (or maybe a lot of people aren't even aware of this), that Theodore had undergone surgery for testicular cancer in the offseason. So he wasn't able to keep up a workout regiment to stay in shape prior to training camp.

Let’s be honest, the Vegas knights were given all talent that no team wanted to invest money or contracts on. James Neal was the difference to that opinion but he was shit on Penguins so they dropped him. Somehow, these minor/major league players worked well together, found their paces and pulled a streak big enough in their first year together, to almost take home the cup. It doesn’t make them any better of hockey players but it does prove talent alone doesn’t win games.
