I also have never been able to get through Little Women but I read Anne over and over again.

I found that helping your kids to love learning is to guide them into their interests. For example, my oldest daughter loves cooking and baking and will read blogs post about cooking and baking her book selection at the library is cooking books, and she applies what she learns with cooking and baking. She has become a talented cake decorator and has people putting orders for her cakes, cookies, and cheesecakes now. She also says she enjoys reading good books probably because I read a lot to her when she was little, she now will read a book and point out why it was a terrible read and how the language is bad. She has come to love good literature like Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, and T.R. Tolkien's books. She also says that she has learned so much in understanding history by reading books related to that particular historical period. My son reads lots of books about Botany and he applies what he reads by caring for his plants and garden. he wants his own plant nursery now. My older daughter likes art and music and reads books related to those topics. She also likes filmmaking and has made fun videos for her siblings to watch. I found that when you give your child more than the typical you must do this grade subject and turn to more focused interest-led learning and project-based learning then they want to learn more.

It is hard for a full-time mom with lots of young children to take time for herself. I often struggle with this, but now trying to take care of myself by eating healthier, exercising, reading and meditating on scripture, and finding some time to read a good book. What are some good resources for how to train your kids for good habits especially the habits you read in the mother culture book? I often struggle with how to do this?

Have you read Laying Down the Rails from Simply Charlotte Mason? It is helpful with habit training.

I put Karen Andreola's book on my wish list for my upcoming book haul purchase. Yes, my reading schedule has been whenever I get a chance to read. I like Christian Bible-based books but also a huge fan of historical fiction novels. I find reading to be enjoyable now that I am older.

Would you say Mother Culture is good for any homeschooling mother, or is it best for those moms using Charlotte Mason curriculum?
