- Izza new coverrrr - this week we’re singing Rapunzels Hurt Incantation from the Tangled series, but I added a bit and made it a lil spicier.
I’ve decided to make this an ‘unofficial’ addition to Rapunzels villain story. Though this isn’t a song I’ve written or changed much, more a cover that happens to work well to extend her story a little, just for funzies!

So, as a recap, in this story Rapunzel never learns the truth, that Flynn had been set up by her mother and was tricked into looking like he’d betrayed her by stealing her crown. She is left to believe that Flynn betrayed her. Flynn then goes to prison as he did in the original film and never escapes to save Rapunzel. Some small changes to the original story with dire consequences…
Rapunzel returns to live with her mother willingly and slowly gives into her rhetoric that the outside world is evil. Not needing much convincing as she is still reeling from Flynns betrayal. Rapunzel sits and stews as what was once a bright young women becomes something much darker.
Eventually she leaves the tower to find and take her revenge out on Flynn. He betrayed her and then abandoned her just like mother said he would, and for that he’ll pay the price. But before that, she has other business to deal with. Mother told her that people were evil and cruel, and she was right about Flynn, so what better time to take out all those potential threats? she sings the hurt incantation throughout the kingdom to anyone that might hear it poisoning their minds and destroying all those that mean to harm her and her mother. Finally her true spirit is free, shes never felt this powerful. And next, Flynn Rider.
Hopefully the story makes sense! So timeline wise in Rapunzels villain story she sings this just AFTER the first villain song we created for her which is linked above. I do plan on creating another song for her in the future to continue this story but you’ll have to wait to see her final showdown with Flynn 😉. Hopefully this is a fun little addition to what will become a full arc ✌️

I'd pay to see Rapunzel as an actual villain as a spinoff. Tired of everyone thinking of her as naive, or as a gentle princess who can't handle anything dark.

This is like the Disney Twisted Tales books. When rapunzel power comes from a moon drop plant instead of a sun drop, giving her silver hair with the power of destruction. Instead of being kidnapped, she is sent to live with the Witch Gothel, the only person brave enough to take her in.

Very haunting melody showing how Gothel's manipulations have really broken down Rapunzel and now the world is suffering for it. All Rapunzel has known is suffering, both through what she thought was love all her life raised by Gothel and now through the "betrayal" by Flynn. And I feel when the time for them to meet again comes, Rapunzel may break even further knowing it was all for naught when she learns the truth.
Rapunzel will become Perchta from Final Core after she knows the truth

@@lydiasoares88 the Rapunzel from this is fresh off the events of the movie so while that might work Cassandra has no connection to these events besides just daughter of guard stopping freaky cooky black haired psychopath with death magic (although the hurt incantation is a bit of a plot hole in this because she would have needed to get it from somewhere)

That might not be much a villain arc as it is a revenge arc. Slay, Empress, slay! Any way it’s done would be so amazing. Maybe she takes that dark power and takes revenge on the other royal families that looked the other way as her family was slaughtered.

Before listening to this, I watched the original Rapunzel villain song, and even though there isn't an animatic for this one, I can envision in my mind exactly what is happening and I am all for it! The final interaction between Flynn and Rapunzel can't come soon enough!

If anybody wants to skip the instrimentals at the start, the words start at 0:16
I just imagine repunzel with most of her hair in a braid but a section on each side left out wrapped in loops and latched to her waist like whips and the ends with blades or metals pieces sewn in. She uses these as whips to fight and when wrapped in one of the strands of hair her dark incantion can torture and even kill them depended on the verse she chooses.
So haunting and tragic yet so beautiful. I just want to comfort her after everything she went trough. These princess villains songs are so creative. I'm looking forward to what you're doing next

This reminds me of the Twisted Tale novel of Rapunzel, in which her hair is actually silver because her mom drank a potion from the moon flower! She sings a little song not to heal but to hurt in that version, and reading the book I wondered what the song would sound like, now I have my answer

This lore stacks up waaaay better than the Rapunzel show's. Even the lyrics you added sound so much better rhymically and poetically than the original Hurt Incantation... which, for some reason, was never actually used to set Zan Tiri free...?
This was merely the dark part of the sundrop incantation. Zan Tiri was freed by the full power of the sundrop and moonstone which has a different incantation than this.
The beginning had me singing “Turn arouuundddd”😂

I dont think that would make sense though since her hair kinda was her power. Like, normally it could heal and if I remember correctly, in the show while singing the hurt incantation her hair kinda was like vines, trapping the people arround her.

I can imagine Rapunzel learning the truth after killing Flynn and the people of the kingdom, she’ll hunt and kill her mother with the Hurt Incantation.
Since I'm A Person Who Comments now, I just have to nonsensically gush about this video. Because.
I've watched it, like, five times now, minimum, and your vocals in "make these monsters see" have given me actual physical chills every. single. time. The change in lyrics at the end from "the spirit" to "my spirit" is such a brutal emotional gut-punch, too.
Also, given it's A Thing that manipulators do, making their victim see the situation as the two of them against the world, and Mother Gothel canonically tried to make Rapunzel helpless against her and hateful against the rest of the world... I'm just saying, if Raps hadn't conveniently remembered being a royal toddler, she'd be pretty much doomed. So, y'know, very realistic backstory.
Anyway.
This is a gorgeous extension of the Hurt Incantation. Just... Gorgeous. And the art is gorgeous. And your vocals, again, are g o r g e o u s

When I saw an animatic with this short song from the TV show, I had to check and see where the full thing was and I was sad that it was only those few lines and not a full song.
But then I became super happy because the first two names I see under "wither and decay song" are Lydia and Annapantsu.

This could've been if Varian had never woken her up and betrayed Rapunzel again. To the point Cassandra and Eugene both have to try to wake her up and find Varian. She never wakes up and puts the land of Corona in fear. She makes them loose their breath and she ends up ruling this kingdom.
The biggest crime in the tangled series was not singing the chants. Rapunzel sings the short version of the decay chant like once and we never hear the control chant in song form. It would be cool if you just did a little cover of the chants in general so we could have a song version of them.

Okay but just reading through that description, I'm remembering Flynn was going to be executed, before he got rescued in the movie. So like...imagine she has her villain arc, causes all that damage looking for Flynn, going WAY past the point of no return, and then learns he's dead...learns more about what happened, little hints and things that don't add up, and then learns the truth. That she was lied to. That Mother Gothel tricked her, and now she has become a withering monster. But she does not learn until its far, far too late, and there's no going back now.
Not generally a fan of such storylines tbh but its fascinating sometimes contemplating arcs that utterly break a person. Lovely voice btw!

I liked the Tangled series, it was fun and goofy. but something that drove me nuts was that Rapunzel was a Mary Sue, and what happened to Cass. Cassandra was my favorite character- now it's Valerian because I must protect that boy at all costs, anyways- and I cried when she sang "Waiting in the Wings", I felt like I could relate, but when she grabbed that stone and told Rapunzel "I told you to be careful with who you trust" (or whatever she said)... I don't know what happened, but I felt like the connection I had established with Waiting in the Wings, just snapped. Like how Eugene just sliced Rapunzel's hair off in the movie like of way lol. I know how she feels, like you give everything your all, and when you fail- or even just fall a little short of expectations, you feel like you'll always be second best. That yeah, you're good, not good enough though. That even her own mother, Gothel, chose Rapunzel over Cassandra. I mean we all know Gothel sucks, but that's still Cass' biological mom.
Also, I know Rapunzel has had time to master a lot of various skills considering she was stuck in a tower for the first 18 years of her life. And I know her need to please everyone stems from Gothel being a shit mother, but I appreciated the episode where she's trying to please Monty. some people won't like you, and I find it odd that he's the only one in the entire kingdom to dislike (or hate, idk if he said hate) Rapunzel. I mean he's not the only one who isn't a fan, but he's the only one that doesn't want to take over the kingdom in addition to disliking the royal family.
Cassandra was never really a villain in my eyes, and neither was Valerian. Cassandra always did her best but never felt like she was good enough, and Zhan Tiri manipulated her by adding fuel to the fire.
Valerian was practically shunned for his passion, and yes he did put people in danger, but not intentionally. He knew the rocks were bad, and he wanted to help protect the village against them. His way of doing that was studying them and using the powers of science & alchemy to ward them off. Rapunzel promised to help Valerian, and she turned her back on him when he needed help the most.

Rapunzel is anything but a Mary Sue she struggles much like the rest of the group unlike more recent media such as StarWars with Rey to say that Rapunzel was a Mary Sue because she did things on her own and didn't put up with people being mean.. She's a girl boss in her own right everyone respects her. Some instants Eugene had to help her out or she would have died.. To say she's a Mary Sue is like wtf..

The healing one uses the flower so i figured the hurt one can use the moon stone. Use terms for shadowing something instead of lighting it, switch which lines use make and let and use their opposite. Let your power shine becomes make your power be. Make the clock reverse becomes let the clock advance. I'm pretty proud of it.

An idea I thought would be cool to do is if Rapunzel after hurting flynn finds out the truth of how she has been tricked and flynn dies in her arms with her now knowing the truth and that could lead to a fourth song where she gets revenge on mother gothel for lying to her
