It definitely was :) Sathorn hotel is my favourite one! It's so cheap and the view from the roof is spectacular! Have fun in Miami- it's my best-loved city in the world! I wish I was there now! Make the most of it!
If you intentionally book a horrible hotel then It is not their mistake. There are thousands of luxury or budgets hotels are available in Kolkata. You should have asked someone or should have check the room before checking in. Atleast google search would have been helpful for you. Still sorry on their behalf if have misbehaved with you. But, please next time do a proper search on google before checking in. Don't go directly to any hotel before reviewing. Keep this in mind. You can find any app or websites related to any service in india.
@SUMITSINGHRAJPUTBME you haven't watched the video properly. As it is shown in the video I was denied check in with paid reservation at the hotel which I booked online far in advance before landing. Moreover it was in the middle of the night, around 2 o'clock am. I didn't have any Wi-Fi, no internet, the only help I had was a kind taxi driver who took me to that hotel. He told me that there no more hotels available and that was the only one with vacant rooms. Add to it that I was extremely tired after long journey and I could not have been bothered to hang around the city at late night. Watch the whole video properly please.
I always do, the thing is that the previous hotel where I had had my reservation didn't let me in and I didn't have any other choice than going to that horrible place- it was the only hotel that time at 2 o'clock at night.

@@georgesowa13 the bottom-line of it is if you don't respect your customers, they will throw you out of business. No marks for guessing the dire state of this hotel. I hope your rest of the stay in India is enjoyable and worth the time.

There are FAR betters for this or a little less money in the area in which this hotel is. Quite obviously a joint used for an hour or two fior hurried rendezvous by lovers cheating on their spouses, call girls and the like.
I wasn't lucky with it at all. That is what happens when you land in the middle of the night in the place that you don't know it. Travelling is not always fun 😉
You are 100 % right! That room was extremely dirty. Normally I wouldn't stay there but because it was 2 o'clock at night I didn't have much of a choice. So I decided to make a complaint and finally I managed to bargain price.
Well done, there were many people against you alone. so well argued to stand up for basic cleaning right. Now they have learned a lesson. Hope you have a better experience in Kolkata. There is still basic hygiene and unclean environmental issues in KOLKATA. ENjoy @@georgesowa13

Always look at the reviews in google and only stay at hotels which have 4+ rating.

30 Dollars is reasonable for that room if it was clean. At that condition it should have been not more than 10 USD.
