    Greetings from Auckland New Zealand. Thanks so much for posting this video on UA-cam. I first saw your review about 5 weeks ago and immediately ordered a unit for my 5D mk IV. It took only 5 days to have the unit in hand! I bought a SWIT battery to go with it and after 3 weeks of solid use boy oh boy it is worth every penny. Well constructed, very clever design indeed. I love my 5D but was getting super tired of swapping batteries and this item is Without doubt and incredibly sleek designed solution. Thanks once again. Cheers for now.

    Perfect companion for the BMPCC 4K

      Would it power the Original BMPCC especially that the power port requires 12v?

    I just buy USB to male / female jack cables connect to power bank. To mount the battery just get a handphone holder/clamp with shoe mount and u can use any power bank capacity or size.

    Great review, and like you said. Why didn't think any other manufacturers of this.

    I really like the way it looks, and it's very practical since you can power and charge with just this little device. But it's expensive, over $71 and getting an Ansso battery plate and a generic charger costs a bit less.

    This is great, I just got this camera, and a battery grip.
    I will probably use it for video a lot later on, thank you for this extensive run down. Subbed!
    Keep it up :)

    How about making that converter to use power from a power bank?

      You can easily do that with a dummy battery and some adapters.

    How about a direct DC to DC cable to use with the upcoming Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K? That thing is going to need some external power options, for sure, and a dummy battery is never the ideal option. Plus we BN Pocket owners are used to rigging out our cameras. We'll be getting cages for our rigs, so we won't be wasting the shoe mount, for sure, so a quarter-20 to quarter-20 adapter will be just the ticket. :)

    My unit never charges my NP-F batteries. I've left the battery on it charging overnight and it doesn't charge them at all.

    Great, I'm sold. I would like to see a lock/grip for the barrel connector to lock it in for some safety.

    • @BlindSpotGear
      @BlindSpotGear 6 років тому +2

      Dang, that's a solid idea, we know how annoying micro hdmi cables are. We're still developing this little gem and I'll def take that comment back to the design team.

    • @CineD
      @CineD  6 років тому +1

      Actually there's a little lock for the cable underneath which I only discovered after shooting. It's mentioned in the article. Nino

    • @m0fe
      @m0fe 6 років тому +2

      I'm referring to a more of a cable pinch type thing like a HDMI lock you find on cages

      Blind Spot Gear sweet, not to ask for the world BUT if the unit had a internal battery with say 10/15 seconds of juice you could hot swap like a boss. A bit like the atomos S2H products.

    • @BlindSpotGear
      @BlindSpotGear 6 років тому +2

      Ha, give an inch take a mile. This has come up in discussions as hot swapping would be a stellar feature, however, we wanted to be as competitive as possible on price, hopefully, you'll agree €39 is pretty awesome. Great feedback, keep it coming.

    Cool device and very versatile, if you want to DIY and don't need the charging facility or USB output you can make you own by buying a NP-F series battery plate that come with DC output from ebay for around $13 and a dummy battery adaptor for your camera.

    • @BlindSpotGear
      @BlindSpotGear 6 років тому

      Nice, a fifth of the functionality for about half the price, and some DIY time thrown in ;)

    • @MrAllstar

      Either there's something you aren't telling us or you are just really shit at Math. The power junkie's RRP is $68 without a dummy battery adaptor.

    • @BlindSpotGear
      @BlindSpotGear 6 років тому +1

      It's $45 without a dummy adaptor or $35 if you buy the pack of 5. I do admit there was still some rounding in my math. Who doesn't love a cheeky youtube comment :)

    • @MrAllstar
      @MrAllstar 6 років тому +1

      Fair enough but $45 is the limited Kickstarter price which is stated as 30% off RRP. Can't argue against the Power Junkie, it's very clever and useful, too my mind perhaps a little expensive but maybe that's just because I'm too poor/too thrifty for my own good.

    • @BlindSpotGear
      @BlindSpotGear 6 років тому +2

      TheAwesomeStuff that’s the filmmakers way, got to keep thrifty and make sure every purchase works for you. Peace.

  • @Made_by_Matthew
    @Made_by_Matthew 6 років тому

    Tbh I see little value in this over a v lock battery and plate. Sure it's much cheaper but your v locks can come with you when you upgrade and they're also really good counterweights for shoulder rigs.

    • @CineD
      @CineD  6 років тому +1

      Hmmm, we have such a solution and honestly spoken, I always found it a bit clunky and have stopped using it years ago. The V-Lock battery plate and the battery itself is simply too clunky to mount on or behind such a small camera. And if you want to build a really balanced rig it becomes obscenely large, but usually i prefer to stay small with these cameras. Nino

    I wish the power connector were locking. That's very dangerous if you were to accidentally pull the cord!

    why can I simply connect the DC out to the DC in socket on the camera and forget about the dummy battery altogether?

    • @alaneasdale8331

      Because the DC in to cameras require different voltages, (usually 12v.)

    Fantastic idea, but, I am afraid the Chinese will come out with a copy, even BEFORE this company comes out with theirs, and it will be lower cost than this company can make them for. That's how they work. Even if you have a patent YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR AND DEFEND YOUR PATENT IN COURT, and how much money do they have for that? That's the dirty little secret they don't tell you about patents. It costs you $10,000 to get a patent, then you don't have the hundreds of thousands of dollars to DEFEND your patent in court. I really hope this company comes to market with these. Such an obvious thing...after someone else does it already, right?

    • @CineD
      @CineD  Рік тому
