A rather special episode in the discovery of a still intact communist marvel! I present to you Pyramiden, an ideal Soviet city built on the island of Spitsbergen in Svalbard during the first half of the 20th century. Abandoned a little over 20 years ago, it is today a magnificent example of the town planning of the colonies of the USSR in one of the most polar places in the world.

Great work, watching the whole series on translated subtitles. I come from a formerly communist country, pictures of such preserved soviet architecture left me speechless. Thank you for sharing the experience!

J'aurai adoré avoir plus de temps sur place, malheureusement notre temps était compté à cause du départ du bateau...en effet, dans ce genre de lieu, il est important de prendre du temps car il y a tant de choses à explorer !
