at work we got our office lady new computer and windows 11 was unusable for 60 years old person so we just copied the c partition from old computer to the new one along with windows 10 and disabled tpm in bios. it activated, retain all the programs and certyficates...and the only thing that had to be reactivated was office

ever since windows 8 we lost ability to roll back intarface to older version , you could use windows 95 in program mannager shell, xp up to 7 with clasic win 9x style windows and task bar last 10 years microsoft was fightig the consumers gving and taking stuff in product we paid for

With Microsoft it´s ever second released OS lately. Win 98 = ok, Win ME = worst ever. Windows XP = ok, Windows Vista = really bad. Win 7 = GREAT, Win 8 = even worst than worst ever, no customer wanted this. Win 10 = not ok, but better than the disaster Win 8. Win 11 = not what the customers wants at all.

They're improving nothing I'm using windows 10 for (that couldn't be fixed in w10), while removing the one thing I'm required to use Windows for (my vr headsets).
Plus, I've installed w3.11, w95, w98, XP probably 100 times without exaggeration. I'm an expert at that shit, just don't want to have to do it anymore.

I disagree, I been using Windows since XP, and I find Windows 11 more sleek and cleaner in design then previous Windows. A better OS for gaming and productivity.
Overall backend functionality is still the same, but is to be expected for compatibility reasons.

No, they changed the plot to Google Lite, working to steal as much of our information as possible to sell it to the data brokers . They make more that way than selling WIndows at the point and just expanding on what they started with 10. Getting close to just saying the hell with it and go Linux all of the way. Probably once they kill 10. Windows 7 really was their apex.

      It really is that simple.
Sux if you're a windows channel and you rely on that for income. But it's time to have a backbone and be open about how terrible microsoft has become.

To be sincere, unless you have some very specific PAID software that uses older versions of Net Framework to be activated (Making it impossible to activate them on Linux), Linux nowadays (Linux Mint, Ubuntu, Kubuntu, etc), are incredibly easy to use. With the exception of Power Users of the system, that still keep making tutorials on how to use everything on a command prompt using sudo commands, the entire system works like Windows, but even better because it's possible to do anything you want with it, you can install themes that changes the entire system, you can have a system that looks like Windows 7 or any other windows and do it your way, and it's fast, very well made and receives updates constantly.
And thanks to Steam efforts to make Steam Deck a thing, 95% of the Steam Library runs on Linux by using their own emulator on the system, so you have no need to do anything but update your drivers if needed.
The sole reason I'm on Windows is LITERALLY the lack of ways of activating Scrivener there right now, and I'll keep trying on my laptop until I can do it. Once I do, I'll leave windows 11 on my PC too.

I was still using Windows 95, and then upgraded to Windows XP around 2009, then Windows 7 very late, and with my most recent OS, Windows 10 very late. I will not upgrade to Windows 11 just because what Microsoft is doing with their OS designs. I will switch to Linux ( Ubuntu and Mint ), and FreeBSD ( via USB HDD plug in that the BIOS switches to in the boot up), but still keep using Windows off-line with backups to reinstall the system, and my data. The other problem with upgrading or even changing to a new OS, is learning the new OS and investing ( and relearning ) in the software all over again.

This does not shock me at all. Honestly, though I heard the same thing about Windows 10 when it first came out. But it was updated and tweaked to be a pretty solid mature OS. I was hoping they would go that route with Windows 11 but so far not so much. I'm hoping the next version of windows they will fix all the stupid things they did in windows 11. Also, for the love that is good and holy, get rid of having to have a Microsoft account to access your operating system! Stupidest thing ever implemented. Lets face it though. Microsoft has transitioned into a data collection company. So we better get used to that. Don't even get me started about copilot. We actually turned it off in my organization. It's a security risk.

All you have to do is google any oil company and look at the profits they are posting and the bonuses they are giving their CEO and you will see where your money is! My computer will run Windows 11, in fact, up until last month, I was running the pro version since Windows 11 was publicly offered. I hate it, from the Microsoft 365 ad in setup that will not allow removal, to the fact that every time there is an update, more crap gets installed. At the beginning of this month, I switched to Linux, every thing I need will run in it, including games I have bought, and they actually run better in Linux so there is no way I will be running Microsoft apps or Windows 11 again.

End of support from windows doesn't mean jack sh. just keep using w10 as long as it's supported by the software you use because by the time people find exploits that could actually put your system in danger no new software is going to support win10 anyways and you'll be forced to change OS.
People love to fearmonger but in reality the security is 100x better than in the windows XP days and just because you don't get security updates doesn't mean you will suddenly get hacked.

Just be careful that your router is correctly configured - you've changed default password, you've turned off any WAN side remote admin and UPnP - and that any software you use to access the internet remains up to date. Some web browsers no longer receive updates on Win7. As long as you are careful and use up to date web software, you should be pretty safe.

I don't mind the change in UI. I just wish Microsoft would make it more customizable out of the box. However, with that said I don't necessarily hate the windows 11 UI. There are aspects of it that I don't like but they're slowly starting to improve. Like the Windows 8 context menu is way better in 24H2.
But back in the day Windows would allow you to switch the UI back to a classic interface. I think we should still have that capability today.
