If you hear the intercom playing the commentary, it’s not deafeningly loud to be easily heard. In the event of an emergency I’d be happy that he could quite easily be heard with a raised voice. I also don’t imagine every passenger on other ‘commuter’ and touring helicopters etc would be provided headsets either. Edit: I would also assume he has the ability to flip from pre-recorded commentary to an internal speaker if required.

So how does the pilot communicate with his pax in the unlikely event of an emergency? If they are not provided with headsets…
