As a Tuono owner definitely agree with your advice about getting into track days. I did my first few track days on a panigale 959 and that was more than enough power while I was using all my brain power focusing on learning the track, braking points, gears for each corner etc.

I got mine a year ago and i'm pretty sure that the TRACK mode is the smoother of the 3 and if you combine it with the ASC A1 suspension mode, you get throttle control that give you the impression of never having the full power. In fact the bike give you all it can without losing traction or lifting the front wheel. if you want raw power for fun go for the SPORT mode with ASC A3 suspension mode that way you get the less help. But if you want something smooth and easy and fast with no surprise and less engine break use the TRACK mode with ASC A1. In all case please DISABLE THE WHEELIE CONTROL!! this thing is jus anoying for nothing and cut all power for even the smallest bump. btw be careful with the ABS : the mode ABS 1 disable the rear abs and can surprise you. Anyway stay safe out there boys!

It pulls but smoothly not like a ducati hard. Aprilia's v4 engine has been built to be ridden fast effortlessly. I've owned two rsv4 rf models and will always be my 1st choice road and track.

I test rode the 2018 the other day. It is an amazing machine to ride. The only issue I had was getting the kick stand down after the ride. I am 5'4" and I couldn't get the stand down easily. Having the foot peg in the way was not helping. It also had GP shifting which took a minute to get used to. I guess the previous owner tracked it and had the upshifts and downshifts reversed. If there was a dealer where I live, I may have considered buying it.

What track day org is that? They don't require removing mirrors and taping up brake lights and things? I wish the orgs near us were like that, just ride what you brought....
As for the power, I did a slipon and a tune, and we were getting 165hp at the wheel... Which means it has to be well over 185hp at the crank, probably closer to 190...
