UP 6706 Patch CNW Leads Manifest Train South - E. Alpine Avenue Railroad Crossing, Stockton CA

(Filmed November 3, 2024) After the z-train, I went home for a bit before heading out again to catch the southbound UP MRVWC freight. It was being led by UP 6706, the last remaining Chicago and Northwestern AC44CW patch locomotive still in active service. It came into California two days prior and I knew it was only a matter of time before it came my way and I was made aware it was coming my direction. This is my first time catching it in a little over three years after several missed opportunities and uncertainty of its future. I setup here at Alpine Avenue to catch it. A person passing me on the side off screen asked if I got good pictures of the train in which I nodded and brushed it off in a good way as the person was only walking by. This was my final catch of the day. So far November railfanning for me is off to a VERY strong start so far. This crossing owned by Union Pacific is a UP late 1990s to early 2000s install with changes to its gates, gate lights, a light and light head.
