- 400's "Money Raids" are a great way to maximize purple chance while keeping the raid relatively easy. It's very possible to do consistent 400's with budget gear like what I use here. Your times will be slow and some skill is certainly required, but I like doing slower raids for a higher chance at a unique from TOA.
In this live commentary I give you my thoughts and strategy while we complete TOA using a crossbow and budget gear, pretend my ZCB is an ACB.

Great video man! I have a question for ya:
I can do 150 without many issues, with bowfa/fang/swamp trident and crystal/bandos/ahrims. I wanna get to 350 for the masori assembler kit but dont have the yellow keris. My range is 99/magic 95/all melee 90s, with 90 prayer and 99 hp. You think I need to grind and upgrade some gear first, or bring more than a 4 way switch for each one?
@@joshved6895 your stats and gear are plenty. I think with the right effort you could clear a deathless 350 pretty quickly. If you’re unfamiliar with some of the invocations or strats involved then I would just slowly turn up the heat and try doing some 200-300 raids to practice. If you’re lucky you might get a yellow Keris during that practice.
Without the keris you’ll want to play greedy with your supplies. It’s a hard balance between bringing more DPS (to kill faster and need less heals) or bringing more potions to survive longer. You may want to avoid invocations that force you to take more unavoidable damage (room levels, p1/p2 invos, others I might not be thinking of) or bring something like an SGS to heal off Kephri eggs, last hit the core with a spec, restore prayer on zebak jugs, spec warden skulls, etc.

you can preswap a little bit of gear (not weapon) before wardens are downed to make the transition to DDS specing the core easier, it doesnt affect accuracy, only dmg
Damage on P2 wardens is calculated with accuracy for some reason. but yeah its far more important to get the first tick core attack off than it is to keep higher dps for the last hit or 2 on the warden. I usually use those last few ticks to switch to piety and double check salt/adren

Yeah hahaha, I had to stop myself from complaining about the bgs in every room to be honest. With my normal gear I sometimes do these runs with a bone dagger instead, I think it’s objectively worse but it always hits when you need it to.
Wiki says that bgs specs doesn't make a difference at Kephri, since it restores defence after each shield phase.
@@Hippimanni I was under the impression kephri’s defence only resets on the last phase when it’s actual health bar appears
@@evilgnome45 oh you're right, seems like I misunderstood it at first. Anyway the point was that you should use high damage dealing spec weapons instead of debuffing her stats.

Hello. I seem to be making a “mistake” by taking two types of bolts Ruby and Diamond. Should I take only rubys? Seems nobody who does 300 takes bolt switches
The bolt switches arnt worth it at TOA. Any additional range switch will give you a higher dps increase than bolts due to how high of hp the bosses have. The only place it would be slightly useful is during wardens enrage, but at that point its just not worth the inventory space.
@@dvst_tv thank you for the response. I will start doing that because I usually fall short of a super restore and don’t make it very far. Granted my account is maxed nor close to being maxed. 150s are too easy so looking for 300 for some rewards. Thank you for your insight on this
I just planked my first 400 solo, been doing 400s for a while duo. I tried with walk the path and pathfinder on though. Didn’t think about the fact that it’s a lot easier when you don’t have to deal with insanely high level rooms
The room levels add too much hp and def to add them for raid level, not to mention having a level 2/4 zebak or baba will make your wardens harder too.
@@dvst_tv i just sold my bank for a Shadow and have no tbow/no bowfa, what ranged weapon can I use? DCB? or should I just shadow Zebak and blowpipe anywhere else?
NIce video. What plugin do you use for the health bar over your character?
Theres a plugin called Interface Styles. I use the Runescape 3 health bars, probably why mine looks different.
How did you highlight the boulders at ba ba? Haven't seen a single youtuber being able to do this.
It’s using the runelite “Better NPC Highlight” plugin. You’ll have to google the NPC ID to do it, I believe there are some Reddit threads with the correct ones. I don’t use runelite anymore and try my best to avoid using plugins now so unfortunately I don’t have the numbers available.

How do you change akkhas true tile to color the att style he is attacking with? Is it just in the true tile Rl plug in?
It’s using interaction range highlights, and setting a different color for each ID akkha has. It’s hard to explain in a comment, I’ll find the video I used and link it here

Idk why but dehydration seems so scary, think I need to just make myself get use to it. Running super comfortable 325s right now but I'm desperate to push my purp rate up
Dehy complicates things for sure but once you’re pushing into the 300’s you get to a point where it’s basically the only option. The biggest thing to remember is that with dehy you can only really make 1 mistake at a time, you don’t have the ability to panic brew and once you use your Keris spec that’s it until the next. Get creative with sgs/blowpipe usage and remember to adren+keris anywhere that causes you the most problems (probably akkha enrage and warden enrage)
So in kephri with more overloads if you're going to camp protect from ranged why not trap the melee instead?
Using a trident/crossbow it takes too long to kill the melee compared to the fang. Not only does that cost you time but it’s also healing the boss during it. You also take a lot less damage from the melee than the ranger and the ranger can inflict poison on you making you sip another sanfew. If you want you can trap both, but I find it much faster and simpler to just kill the melee with a fang

There’s no point on using the ghost’s resources if you’re doing dehydration.
Might aswell make the raid easier by putting no help at all.
Dehydration still requires the use of prayer for healing. This run would have failed without those additional resources and most budget setups will. Without a tbow or shadow that’s usually going to be the case. If using a bofa and optimizing resource usage you can probably get away with it though

If you’re stuck on 150’s it’s probably just room mechanics or general game mechanics. Keep practicing your gear switches and make sure you have true tile turned on so you can improve your player movement! 150’s are still fun and you’ll be able to add levels here and there and be doing 300’s in no time :)

Practice makes perfect. I lost like 25 mill before i could do 400’s consistently. Take note of what youre dying to and practice it. In my case akkhas final part and baba were killing me the most so I did runs to practice those things alone
Is that a budget crossbow?
I’m on an iron and don’t have a spare arma cbow or dragon cbow. But the point being “budget” just requires a crossbow rather than a bofa/tbow. Everything about the run stays exactly the same even if you use a rune crossbow that only has 20 less accuracy.

Yellow Gem required?
No, but it does make your life much easier. Without Sun Keris you'll need to take off dehydration and bring in brews, I personally bring 2-3 but it depends on your comfort level. Then you'll need to select Power > Life at the spirit. If power only gives you one salt youll have to make it last the whole run, and instead of keris heals at warden youll use brews and ambrosia.
My adhd makes this raid go brrrr whenever I do an attempt
I was hacked for 5.5 bill. I have 2 shadows on my log and 10+ of everything else. I was left with peanuts behind my bank and grinded low lvl toa till 750 mill. Now I just have enough to make a full masori zaryte build with a nezi helm camp. This video helped me verify its legitimacy. Thanks.
You can use a dragon crossbow, I don’t own a dcb/acb on the iron but the main thing is dragon bolts speed up wardens. Otherwise tbh you can use an addy crossbow and blackdhide
@@dvst_tv I had 600 mill behind my bank pin thank christ. If they got that too I'd be pushed back so far. I was able to make 220 mill there already and man is the zaryte ever op with masori. I can now do 400s again :) Staff inc!!!!!!!!!!!!!! #ToADemption

@@Shaithydollarz No someone downloaded all my info somehow. .Even after changing my pass they used the one I changed it to and logged on and stole 3.3bill more. All upgraded to Jagex account and safe now. Oh...banks at 2.3 bill from the staff pull I got like 4 days after posting that ;).

any sub for zaryte cbow?
You can use a acb or even a dragon crossbow instead, as long as it shoots dragon bolts you’re fine. I’m an iron so unfortunately I didn’t have either of those to downgrade to. I considered doing this video with an rcb instead but losing the dragon bolts is pretty punishing. If you have a bofa that’s your best option with crystal.
Yellow keris not valid
80 expert dry wtf, ive done 40 normal raids and gotten purple every 10 raids
I ended up going 103 dry, mostly 380-400 range. Should have gotten 6-8 purples in that time. Usually 400's are about a 10% drop rate and 300's are about 6%

Calling this budget yet you use a ZCB, are you just intentionally ignoring the dps difference with other crossbows?
Yes. The video is just showing it’s possible with any crossbow, the same strat would work with a dragon/acb with dragon bolts but you could even use this as a reference with an addy crossbow and black dhide if you wanted to. ZCB is a really solid mainhand weapon if you’re wearing full max range (masori, buckler, etc..) but if you’re on a budget you’re better off using bofa/crystal for much cheaper. Unfortunately at the time I made this I didn’t have any other xbow that used dragon bolts or my crystal set.

However you posted this video as a budget run, but then the video starts and you are killing zebak with a 400m crossbow. Have you actually tried killing a 400 invo zebak with a dragon cbow or acb? its not the same thing my friend. Please be more honest.

As explained throughout the video. I’m an Ironman and don’t have another crossbow that fire dragon bolts. This strategy changes 0% if you use a dragon crossbow instead

I don’t own a dcb or acb, all that matters is that it fires dragon bolts as the accuracy increase is incredibly minor. The point is that it can be done with a crossbow. You can also use a bofa which is much cheaper and much better. I have a video coming out soon of completing a level 350 only bringing in an adamant crossbow and 1,000gp in gear.
yeah i was wondering what that was about, point was to use a crossbow but zcb speccing is so op in the raid, its not the same as a different crossbow at all

With a zcb I mvp snipe often :) rcb has the potential with rubies too it’s pretty funny
